The Pastry Cook will provide restaurant guests with excellent food quality and consistency, and with professional service. Responsible for preparing all pastry and bakery items in accordance with quality, quantity, and presentation standards as established by the Pastry Chef. You love building and maintaining sound working relationships with your coworkers!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare all pastry items for the restaurant according to specifications.
  • The demonstration, preparation, presentation and execution of each menu item will be held to restaurant standards.
  • Proper guest service will require that you produce food on a timely basis and that you are well-educated regarding the menu.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, pastry, cooking, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Follow departmental policies as well as restaurant rules, regulations and policies set forth in the Employee Handbook and by management.
  • Report any maintenance or repairs needed to any kitchen equipment.
  • Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to the guests.
  • Prevent the spoiling and contamination of foods by implementing proper sanitation practices and ensuring compliance with policy and health regulations.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen facilities.
  • Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

What You Bring

  • 2-4 year of prior experience in the pastry department of a high-volume, full-service restaurant or a supportive role is preferred.
  • Time management and organizational ability are required for high-quality food production.
  • Food Handler Certification (if applicable).
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand/walk up to 8 hours.
  • Strong creative organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate in written and verbal in English.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule, and the employee must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The hourly pay range for this role starts at USD$10.00-$12.00 per hour plus gratuities.  We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, pension, meal per shift, and many other benefits to eligible employees.
