We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Medical Affairs leader to drive initiatives that build critical relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Providers (HCPs), facilitate discussions on key topics and gain insights to help inform our clinical trials and medical/scientific/development strategies and ultimately support patient identification and enrollment. This is an in-office role, 3 – 4 days per week.  

Responsibilities:  

  • In partnership with our Chief Scientific Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Director of Clinical Development and Head of Clinical Operations, develop & implement strategies to educate clinicians about our programs & therapies, elevate Seaport’s profile in CNS and psychiatry, and drive patient identification & enrollment
    • Serve as key/primary point of contact to external stakeholders such as KOLs, HCPs, Advocacy groups
    • Build relationships, coordinate & lead advisory boards, collaborate on research/speaking on Seaport’s behalf at external congresses and conferences
    • Gain insights to help inform our clinical trials and medical/scientific/development strategies
  • Establish and drive day-to-day operations of Medical Affairs function, including:
    • Development & execution of publication strategy, partnering closely with scientific communications
    • Coordination of Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) & Real-World Evidence (RWE) initiatives, partnering with external experts, payers and internal cross-functional teams to generate and communicate value-based data
    • Provide internal support for medical review of promotional & non-promotional materials, ensuring scientific accuracy and compliance with applicable SOPs, regulatory standards and industry standards

Qualifications: 

  • 15+ years of experience in Medical Affairs plus MD, PharmD or PhD
  • Experience establishing and building Medical Affairs function a plus
  • Expertise in publication planning, scientific communications, field engagement, HEOR or RWE initiatives
  • Therapeutics expertise in psychiatry, especially commercial stage, strongly preferred
  • Strong executive presence with experience representing medical functions at the leadership level and externally with KOLs, regulators and investors.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams, including Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial and Market Access
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to lead multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and regulatory requirements governing medical affairs, including scientific exchange and promotional review processes.
