POSITION SUMMARY
Reign FC is seeking an elite-level Physical Therapist to join the medical team in delivering top-tier care to some of the world’s most elite athletes. The ideal candidate is deeply invested in women’s soccer, upholds the highest professional standards, and is committed to the growth of the league. Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Reporting to the Medical Director, this position will be primarily responsible for managing the long-term healthcare, injury prevention and rehabilitation for all Reign FC players. The Physical Therapist will work closely within a multidisciplinary team to collaborate on athlete wellbeing and care. This includes the Head Athletic Trainer, Assistant Athletic Trainer, Team Physician(s) (CMO), Medical Director, Massage Therapists, Chiropractor, Performance staff.
The Physical Therapist will be required to attend all home matches at Lumen Field and may attend training sessions, scrimmages, and away games as directed by the Medical Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Medical Director:
DAILY OPERATIONS:
- Provide assistance in managing the health care of first team players (i.e. rehabilitation, injury prevention).
- Assist with performing functional and biomechanical screens for all players throughout the season.
- Design individual daily maintenance/injury prevention plans for players.
- Perform player tests, measurements, and evaluations throughout the return to play process.
- Administer appropriate treatment (i.e., manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, passive modalities, return to sport testing, etc.) as devised through the rehabilitation plan.
- Design and implement post-surgical care, treatment, and rehabilitation for long term rehabilitation players.
- Travel to away games and preseason as directed by the Medical Director.
- Assist in tasks such as supporting Athletic Trainers during training/games, hydration intake, dietary consumption, operational daily tasks of the medical training room.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
- Maintain and document player health records in the league-provided electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Assist in keeping the athletic training room and clinic area safe, clean, and organized.
- Travel with players to appointments and surgeries when instructed by Medical Director.
COMPLIANCE AND PROTOCOLS:
- Comply with all NWSL medical policies and protocol.
- Comply with OSHA Standards with regards to blood borne pathogens.
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of pharmaceutical inventory and records.
LEADERSHIP AND COLLABORATION:
- Collaborate closely within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal player health and care.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, working effectively with players, coaches, club personnel, and league staff.
- Attend league-required activities, meetings, and programs.
- Foster effective interpersonal relationships with players, coaches, club personnel, and League staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT) from an accredited institution.
- Passed the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE)
- Minimum three (3) years as a physical therapist since receiving licensure
- Minimum three (3) years experience in a sports environment caring for elite-level athletes (ie, collegiate, professional, Olympic)
- Medical soccer experience preferred, but an exception may be granted for experience in other sports.
- Washington State Department of Health License in Physical Therapy; in good standing with the state licensure board
- CSCS certification through the NSCA preferred.
- Possess personal professional liability insurance.
- Current professional CPR/AED certification in Basic Life Support.
- Residency Trained
- Board certified as a Sport Clinical Specialist (SCS) or Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS)
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups - including players, coaches, team personnel and League staff.

- Ability to work under pressure situations.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This is an in-person position working from Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, WA and Lumen Field.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.
- Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Responsibilities include regular work outdoors and may require standing on feet for long periods of time, as well as some lifting of up to 50 pounds.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. Base pay at time of offer will take into account job-related knowledge, skills and experience required for the role, internal equity and market.
