POSITION SUMMARY

As Video Producer, you are a leader in the space of creative storytelling and content innovation. Through the use of video and photo, you elevate the Sounders brand in key moments across club channels, finding unique ways to create eye-catching content. 

This role requires the consistent exercise of invention, imagination, originality, and creative judgment to conceptualize and deliver compelling visual storytelling aligned with the club’s brand and strategic objectives. The Video Producer collaborates closely with the marketing department to understand project goals, ensuring each production meets the club’s strategic objectives and aligns with its brand identity. This individual will play an important role in the execution of key club moments, covering the team, elevating channels, and supporting other club-related activities.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative Direction and Storytelling

  • Conceptualize, shoot, produce, and deliver impactful video content aligned with the club's vision and audience trends.
  • Set the video strategy for assigned content, including what stories are told, how they are executed, and how they align with organizational priorities.
  • Translate marketing and brand objectives into original, high-impact creative concepts and visual narratives.
  • Explore and integrate emerging tools for video editing and content ideation to enhance creative workflows and elevate storytelling.

Matchday and Event Coverage

  • Lead matchday and event coverage by determining storytelling approach and capturing dynamic, behind-the-scenes, and in-game content.
  • Own creative direction for matchday and event-related content, ensuring consistency in tone, quality and brand voice.
  • Embed with team and technical staff for preseason camps, away matches, and additional MLS events throughout the season, identifying and developing unique storytelling opportunities.

Social Media and Digital Amplification

  • Develop platform-specific video content for social channels, leveraging trends to create shareable, impactful content.
  • Collaborate with the social media team to deliver real-time content that drives fan engagement and audience growth.
  • Shape how content is adapted across platforms to maximize engagement while maintaining a cohesive brand identity.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing, sponsorship, communications, and fan development teams to create cohesive storytelling initiatives.
  • Align video projects with organizational goals, ensuring a consistent voice across all platforms and campaigns.
  • Provide creative input and direction across departments to support broader organizational storytelling efforts.

Other duties as assigned in support of our organization and affiliated clubs.

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • 4+ years of experience in video production, with demonstrated expertise in professional sports, collegiate athletics, entertainment, or a similarly fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro and Photoshop preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects under tight deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Expertise with professional camera equipment (Sony preferred) and advanced post-production techniques.
  • Experience creating video content for platforms including Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Bluesky, and Facebook.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative team environment and can effectively work across multiple departments and with multiple leaders.
  • Quick learner with strong adaptability, able to integrate new technologies into traditional workflows and adapt to new organizational processes, enhancing efficiency and innovation in content production.
  • Consistently displays a high level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Innovative and creative thinker who can contribute ideas and participate in cross-departmental efforts throughout the organization.
  • A passion for storytelling that aligns with Sounders FC’s mission of enriching lives and uniting communities.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience with motion graphics or animation (After Effects or similar tools) is a plus, or an interest in developing skills in this area to support evolving creative needs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

  • This hybrid role combines remote work with on-site responsibilities at our Headquarters & Training Facility in Renton, WA, home matches at Lumen Field, and select away matches requiring significant travel.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.  
  • Must be able to facilitate own local travel.  
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to carry, load and unload all necessary video/camera equipment – 25 to 50 pounds

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 - $85,000. Base pay at time of offer will take into account job-related knowledge, skills and experience required for the role, internal equity and market.
