We work with thousands of food businesses from across the supply chain to redirect unsold surplus food to non-profit organizations that feed communities in every province and territory. The Role
As a part of the Food Recovery & Partnerships team, the Foodraising Assistant will provide timely support to our Foodraisers to research and develop our donor pipeline across Canada while leveraging technologies such as our CRM, Zoominfo, Excel and Arc GIS Mapping software to streamline and build upon existing resources, processes and procedures. This position will primarily focus on midstream and upstream food businesses, including producers, processors, manufacturers, and distributors.
Your Impact
- Perform market analysis and research (donors, events, organizations etc.)
- Research and develop our donor pipeline to aid the Food Recovery and Partnerships team with engaging new and prospective donors.
- Generate new donor leads, maintain the accuracy of potential leads’ contact information, including checking email addresses, phone numbers, and company details.
- Maintain and update lead databases
- Create a comprehensive National Agrifood events database
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support the overall goals of the organization.
Who You Are
- Funded through Canada Summer Jobs, to be eligible for this opportunity, candidates must:
- be Youth between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment, and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- Education: Completion of post-secondary education preferably in a related field of study such as Market Research, Business Administration or Agri-Food studies is considered an asset.
- Experience: Previous work or internship experience in the Agri-Food sector, Data Management, Business Analytics, Market Research or Academic research is considered an asset.
- Meticulous Data Manager: Your keen attention to detail and proficiency with data entry and reconciliation ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Tech-Savvy: You’re highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP), experience using AI tools, and have a strong interest in mastering CRM systems like Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Raiser’s Edge, as well as GIS mapping software (ESRI, QGIS, etc.).
