Mobile Platform Engineer, iOS Focus - Amman, Jordan

Amman, Jordan

About Us:

Trusted and loved by 25 million educators, students, and families worldwide, Seesaw is the only elementary learning experience platform, offering a suite of award-winning tools, resources, and curriculum for teachers to deliver joyful, inclusive instruction.  Through interactive lessons, digital portfolios, and two-way communication features, Seesaw keeps everyone in the learning loop by providing continuous visibility into the student's learning experience to support and celebrate their learning.

Our Mission:

Seesaw’s mission is to provide every elementary student with joyful and connected learning experiences that lay the foundation for success in life. We have been growing quickly in MENA over the last few years, and we are excited to invest in our growth in the region. To better support our MENA and Arabic-speaking customers, we are beginning to staff roles in Amman and build our on-the-ground presence.

Your Team:

This is a full-time role on our Mobile Core Team, an engineering team that owns the foundational infrastructure that powers a unified, high-quality experience across iOS, Android, and web. By standardizing mobile tooling, native integrations (like SSO, uploads, and camera), and web bundling into native apps, the team enables feature developers to focus on product logic—not platform complexity. The vision is to deliver fast, reliable, and secure client experiences for users, while ensuring a smooth, consistent development workflow through clear ownership of mobile builds, release pipelines, and observability tools.

Solving impactful problems on Seesaw’s Engineering team feels different from any other place. First, we are given ownership over the product roadmap early on, collaborating on how and when things will be built from the start. Second, we have a strong connection to the user, listening to teacher feedback and observing how students and families interact with the platform in real life to iterate over our releases. And third, we enjoy ample autonomy to experiment and grow, and often see our ideas pushed to production in weeks, not months.

Globally, millions of children rely on Seesaw every day. That fact is inspiring, and at times, daunting. While we derive a deep sense of purpose from being able to improve students’ learning, it also means we’re emotionally invested in both the successes and failures. So when a child can’t log into their account or something on the platform breaks, we feel it.

Like the rest of the company, our team is growing fast. Keeping up with the pace of growth can be challenging, and we need your flexibility as we define and refine what we need to be. We often learn by shipping, so you won’t find an obsession with rigid processes here. As the Engineering team ramps up hiring, we’re committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI); constantly surveying employees, participating in training, and learning from our DEI Committee.

Though we care deeply and work diligently, there’s no extra credit for working long nights or spending weekends squashing bugs. When we’re off, we’re really off, enjoying our personal lives and recharging our batteries.

At the end of the day, we delight in how much our users adore our product. It’s incredibly fulfilling to read thank you tweets from teachers and know that, hey, we built something that makes a meaningful impact! And while we saw massive growth during the pandemic, we’ve still got a lot more growing to do. Joining our team now means you’ll get to help us take on new markets and innovate the next features that make the learning experience even better.

Your Role:

We’re looking for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of web and mobile development. You’ll work across our hybrid architecture, owning both the JS-based app layer and the native iOS integrations that power features like SSO, native camera access, and upload functionality. You’ll also contribute to our mobile release pipeline and platform updates, ensuring seamless delivery across iOS and other platforms.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work on iOS-specific infrastructure improvements, such as better crash reporting, build automations, and CI/CD pipeline enhancements.
  • Maintain and improve native iOS modules (SSO, camera, uploads) to ensure smooth functionality and better user experience.
  • Monitor and manage the mobile release pipeline, handling versioning, App Store submissions, and necessary OS updates.
  • Debug and resolve platform-specific issues in both the JavaScript and iOS layers, including performance optimizations.

Your Requirements:

  • Proficiency with iOS development (Swift/Objective-C).
  • Experience building hybrid mobile apps
  • Familiarity with mobile release pipelines, App Store processes, and CI/CD for mobile apps.
  • Knowledge of Authentication (SSO), 3rd Party Integrations, Payments services.
  • Comfortable working across both web and native mobile stacks.
  • Experience with performance tuning and native debugging

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Android
  • Experience or interest in JavaScript/TypeScript and web application development

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
