Position Summary: 

We’re seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to help ensure our Openda web platform is thoroughly tested with comprehensive coverage and high automation. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing robust testing protocols, automating test processes, connecting those test processes to our GitLab CI/CD pipeline, and ensuring the overall quality and reliability of our platform. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our core product and influencing how we deliver value to our customers. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tooling and Infrastructure: Evaluate, recommend, and implement testing tools and infrastructure improvements to optimize the testing process.
  • Test Planning and Execution: Develop detailed test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure comprehensive test coverage of the web platform.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous testing to identify, document, and track defects, ensuring the platform's reliability and performance.
  • Test Coverage and Metrics: Define and track key quality metrics, such as test coverage, to ensure that the testing efforts are effectively covering the required areas.
  • Automation: Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks to enhance efficiency and repeatability in testing processes.
  • Debugging: Identify, analyze, and debug issues in both test scripts and application code to ensure accurate and reliable testing outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously analyze testing processes and tools, making recommendations for improvements to increase coverage and efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, processes, and results to ensure clarity and reproducibility of testing efforts.
  • Support and Troubleshooting: Collaborate with development and product teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure seamless integration of testing protocols.
  • Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Adapt to the fast-paced startup environment by taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support the company’s objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2yrs+ of experience defining testing protocols and test plans
  • 2yrs+ of experience in writing test code in one of the programming languages (Javascript/Python/Golang)
  • 2yrs+ of experience in at least one testing automation framework (Cypress/Selenium/…)
  • 1yr+ experience with testing applications hosted on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS/GCP) to ensure they meet performance, scalability, and security standards
  • Ability to integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and to ensure code quality throughout the development lifecycle
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and debug issues in both test scripts and application code to ensure testing accuracy and reliability
  • Ability to deeply understand functional requirements 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a remote environment (Slack, JIRA, GitLab, Git)
  • Superior attention to detail and excellent communicator, both interpersonal and written 
  • Well organized and able to juggle many projects at once

Extras

  • Experience with performance and load testing tools to assess the scalability and stability of the platform under various conditions.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and GDPR regulations
  • Knowledge of radiologic imaging modalities, understanding technical imaging requirements (such as CT and MRI acquisition protocols)
  • Healthcare industry knowledge/experience
