Self Financial is a venture-backed, high-growth FinTech company with a mission to increase economic inclusion and financial resilience by empowering people to build credit and build savings.

We're looking for people who share our passion and are driven to tackle challenges, find solutions and make the financial space better for the communities we serve.

Our team is passionate about challenging the status quo of the credit industry by providing people accessible tools to take control of their credit. Executing on our mission requires deep collaboration across our teams to ensure our products reach the people who can benefit from them the most, particularly the 100 million+ Americans who have no or low credit.

We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. To that end, we seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool.

As we continue to innovate and grow, we’re seeking a talented Senior Product Manager to help lead a new product innovation team, operating like a startup within a startup. This role will focus on quickly identifying new product opportunities, rapidly building and testing solutions, and scaling successful products that help our customers achieve financial freedom.

Who You Are:

  • You have a strong empathy for users and excel in uncovering customer pain points and transforming them into innovative product solutions.
  • You thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments and are comfortable leading new initiatives from 0 to 1.
  • You’re entrepreneurial, resourceful, and passionate about building products that can dramatically change people’s financial lives.
  • You understand the importance of collaboration across teams but can make decisions independently when necessary.
  • You’re highly experimental and data-driven, constantly testing assumptions to find product-market fit.

About the Role:

The Senior Product Manager for the New Product Innovation Team will be at the forefront of identifying and validating new product categories, creating MVPs (minimum viable products), and quickly iterating based on customer feedback. You will work cross-functionally to ensure products are launched effectively and with a “test-and-learn” mentality to drive real customer impact. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Product Management, this role will drive high-impact product development in the early stages of the product lifecycle.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the discovery and creation of new products and product categories that align with Self Financial’s mission of helping customers build credit and achieve financial freedom.
  • Develop rapid prototypes and MVPs for early customer testing, continually iterating based on customer feedback and performance data.
  • Establish and manage a "test-and-learn" roadmap to quickly validate product-market fit for new products and features.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, analytics, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to develop and launch products quickly and effectively.
  • Partner with leadership to identify strategic opportunities and shape the product vision for the innovation team.
  • Use data and experimentation (e.g., A/B testing, customer interviews, surveys) to inform decisions and guide product prioritization.
  • Drive project execution by balancing short-term deliverables with the long-term strategy, while managing resources and timelines.
  • Foster an agile, experimental culture within the team to continuously push the boundaries of product development.
  • Stay informed about trends in FinTech, particularly in consumer finance, credit-building, and financial inclusion, and leverage these insights to fuel new product ideas.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a track record of building and launching innovative products, ideally in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
  • Experience in developing new product categories or working in 0-to-1 product spaces, with a focus on quick iteration and market validation.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to pivot and adapt when necessary to uncover the best product opportunities.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly analytical, with experience using both qualitative and quantitative data to inform product decisions.
  • Proven ability to drive execution and deliver results in environments with high uncertainty and experimentation.
  • Passion for Self Financial’s mission to help underserved consumers access financial tools to build their credit and improve their financial future.
  • Excel and financial modeling experience a plus

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
