About the role

We are seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Director of Paid Marketing Analytics to spearhead our efforts in driving profitable growth through data-informed decision-making. As the leader of our paid marketing analytics discipline, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive analytics framework that encompasses all paid marketing channels, from paid search and paid social to affiliate marketing, direct mail, and beyond.

Your expertise will be instrumental in tracking, analyzing, and optimizing ROI across all paid channels, ensuring that every marketing dollar is invested strategically. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical foundation, a passion for data-driven insights, and the ability to translate complex analytics into actionable strategies that deliver measurable results.

You will lead the development and execution of a robust attribution system, leveraging multi-touch attribution, marketing mix modeling, and incrementality testing to accurately measure the impact of each marketing channel. Additionally, you will design and oversee a rigorous experimentation framework to test hypotheses and continuously optimize campaign performance.

As a key member of the marketing leadership team, you will collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, and engineering teams to launch new products, scale existing ones, and ensure data-driven insights inform all decision-making. You will also be responsible for mentoring and developing a high-performing team of analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attribution and Incrementality Measurement:
    • Design and oversee a robust attribution system incorporating multi-touch attribution, marketing mix modeling, and incrementality testing, platform attribution and mobile measurement platforms
    • Establish clear KPIs, data collection processes, and reporting mechanisms for all paid marketing channels.
    • Partner with DE to ensure data accuracy and integrity across all platforms and systems.
  • Experimentation and Optimization:
    • Develop and implement a rigorous experimentation framework to test hypotheses and drive continuous improvement.
    • Design and analyze A/B and multivariate tests across channels to optimize campaign performance.
  • Strategic Partnership & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work hand-in-hand with growth, marketing, product, and engineering teams to identify opportunities, launch initiatives, scale existing products and support go-to-market for new products
    • Build strong partnerships across the organization to ensure alignment on goals, strategies, and execution.
    • Leverage data-driven insights to influence decision-making at all levels.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Mentor and develop a high-performing team of analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and excellence.
    • Provide hands-on guidance and support while empowering team members to grow and excel.
  • Advanced Analytics & Modeling:
    • Apply statistical techniques like regression, time-series analysis, and predictive modeling to uncover deep insights and drive strategic recommendations.
    • Continuously explore new analytical methodologies and technologies to enhance the team's capabilities and stay ahead of the curve.

Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices:

    • Research and evaluate new marketing analytics tools and technologies.
    • Attend industry conferences and events.
    • Share knowledge and insights with the team and the broader organization.

What you’ll bring:

  • 8+ years of Analytics (marketing analytics preferred) and Data Science experience 
  • 4+ years of people management experience, building and developing high-performing teams with a successful track record of developing and mentoring people
  • Deep experience with attribution, ROI measurement and MMM
  • Experience in causal inference analyses
  • Experience working with senior executives to lead new initiatives and lead strategic direction of the organization from a paid marketing perspective
  • Ability to work with data engineering and think from a data model perspective to improve the data efficiencies of the organization
  • Ability to translate analytics into strategy and strategy into actions
  • Skilled in SQL with good knowledge of various marketing centric statistical modeling techniques
  • Comfort and experience working closely with data engineering leadership to help scale our data models as we launch new products
  • Skilled in at least one scripting language (R or python)
  • Excellent communication - ability to synthesize recommendations and insights from your team to effectively get buy-in from executive stakeholders
  • A proactive approach to the role with a bias towards action
  • You have consistently demonstrated strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Economics, or related analytical field (Master’s Preferred)

 

Base salary range: $204,000 - $227,000 annually.  Individual pay is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, and other job-related reasons.
