JOB LOCATION

This is a Cambridge, Massachusetts (Hybrid) or US REMOTE position.

COMPENSATION

$88,000 - 131,000 / year, Exempt, with a discretionary bonus of up to 10%.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Sensei Ag is currently hiring for a Data Scientist, Computer Vision. The mission of the Data Insights group is to foster a data-driven organization by providing robust and organized data and supporting the wise use of data to gain insights and make decisions. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for sifting valuable new insights out of big data. An ideal candidate brings experience with computer vision and has passion for building sustainable agriculture solutions and for increasing the availability of nutritious and flavorful fruits and vegetables. Day-to-day tasks include working with subject matter experts to deeply understand the available data sets, implementing analyses and machine learning methods to classify and make predictions, and communicating learnings concisely. This will be accomplished by understanding and keeping up to date on modelling methodologies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand where data can be used to optimize systems or gain new knowledge.
Maintain current knowledge of data science methodologies and advise on which is most appropriate to a given need or knowledge gap.
Develop novel machine learning approaches.
Perform literature reviews and assessments of the current state of technology for different applications.
Work with data engineers to encode algorithms into robust pipelines for routine use.
Prototype tools to display and communicate with data.
Work with data engineers to develop systems for routine training, testing and deployment of models.
Brainstorm novel insights and new ways to leverage data.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED

3+ years of experience in the commercial space or other demonstration of ability solving real-world computer vision problems.
MS in data science or related field.
Ability to independently source data, formulate problems and test solutions in the modeling and optimization domain.
Proficiency with utilizing and deploying machine learning models.
Expertise in Python, including work with data science libraries such as Numpy, Pandas, scikit-image.
Experience with reviewing literature and summarizing learnings.
Broad experience with multiple computer vision libraries in Python.
Expertise with extracting data via query languages and from object storage buckets.
Excellent verbal and visual communication skills, specifically with an aptitude for conveying data insights visually.
Ability to work with teams across the organization to understand challenges and data sources.
Ability to work with data and software engineers to support maintenance of robust data sources and to develop infrastructure for routine use of models.

Bonus points if you have...

Experience with MLFlow or other experiment tracking system.
Experience with image annotation tools and image versioning solutions.
Experience with the following relevant tools: Docker, Open CV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Detectron2, TorchVision, TensorFlow Model Garden, CUDA, PowerBI, Tableau.
Experience with Julia, Matlab, R and other engineering-oriented languages.
Experience in agriculture modeling, morphometrics, or hyperspectral imaging.
Experience with deploying and maintaining computer vision models in a production environment.
Experience with data pipelines and job automation and associated tooling.
Experience in the Oracle cloud computing environment.
Experience with data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, Big Query, Spark, and Parquet.

NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT This Non-Disclosure Agreement (“Agreement”) is dated as of the date set forth below (the “Effective Date”) and is by and between the undersigned (“Recipient”) and Sensei Ag Holdings, Inc. (“Discloser”) for the benefit of Discloser, entities and persons affiliated with Discloser, and its and their respective members, managers and employees (the “Discloser Affiliates”). This Agreement establishes the confidentiality and use obligations of Recipient with regard to certain information disclosed or made available by Discloser to Recipient for the purpose stated in Section 2 below. The parties agree as follows: 1. Definition. “Confidential Information” as used in this Agreement means any and all information disclosed or made available by Discloser to Recipient or to which Recipient otherwise becomes privy in connection with interactions or discussions with Discloser or Discloser’s representatives, whether disclosed in written or other tangible form, or by oral, visual, or any other means. Confidential Information includes, without limitation, all information (i) that should reasonably be understood by Recipient to be of a secret, confidential or personal nature to Discloser or any third party, whether because of legends or other markings, the circumstances of disclosure, or the nature of the information itself and (ii) information relating to Discloser’s or Discloser Affiliates’ financial matters, investments, business operations, strategies, organizational structure or organizational charts, or other non-public information about Discloser or Discloser Affiliates, as well as the existence of any actual or proposed transaction, agreement or relationship between Discloser and Recipient and the terms of this Agreement. “Confidential Information” does not include any information that (a) was publicly available at the time it was communicated to Recipient by Discloser or (b) becomes publicly available after it was communicated to Recipient by Discloser through no fault of Recipient. 2. Purpose. Recipient may use the Confidential Information solely for the purpose of a business opportunity of mutual interest (the “Purpose”), and not for any other purpose. 3. Obligations. Recipient will, at all times and notwithstanding any termination or expiration of this Agreement, hold in strict confidence and not use or disclose any Confidential Information to any third party, except as strictly necessary on a need-to-know basis in connection with the Purpose to Recipient’s financial or legal representatives who have signed confidentiality agreements or are otherwise bound by confidentiality obligations at least as restrictive as those contained herein. Recipient shall take reasonable precautions to safeguard the Confidential Information from unauthorized disclosure and will immediately notify Discloser upon discovery of any loss or unauthorized disclosure of any Confidential Information. Notwithstanding the above, Recipient shall not be in violation of this Agreement with regard to any disclosure in response to a valid order by a court or other governmental body, provided that Recipient provides Discloser with prior written notice of such disclosure in order to permit Discloser to seek to avoid or minimize the required disclosure and/or to obtain an appropriate protective order or other appropriate relief to ensure that any Confidential Information so disclosed is maintained in confidence to the maximum extent possible. Nothing in this Agreement shall obligate Discloser to proceed with any transaction, and each Party reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate any discussions or negotiations contemplated by this Agreement. 4. Return or Destruction of Confidential Information. At any time after the disclosure, immediately upon Discloser’s request, Recipient agrees to promptly: (i) return all previously disclosed Confidential Information to Discloser or (ii) destroy or erase (on all forms of recordation) all Confidential Information in Recipient’s possession or control and certify such destruction of all copies (including any archival copies) of the Confidential Information (and delete all forms of recordation in whatever media stored, whether in existence now or invented in the future). 5. Termination. The termination of any other transaction, agreement or relationship between or involving the parties shall not relieve Recipient of its obligations with respect to Confidential Information disclosed pursuant to the terms of this Agreement. 6. Severability. If any of the provisions of this Agreement are held invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall be unimpaired. 7. No Warranty. ALL CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION IS PROVIDED “AS IS.” DISCLOSER DOESN’T MAKES ANY WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR OTHERWISE, REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS OR PERFORMANCE OF ANY CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION, OR WITH RESPECT TO NON-INFRINGEMENT OR OTHER VIOLATION OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OR OTHER RIGHTS OF ANY THIRD PARTY OR OF RECIPIENT. 8. No License. Nothing in this Agreement is intended to grant any rights to Recipient under any patent, mask work right or copyright of Discloser, nor shall this Agreement grant Recipient any rights in or to the Confidential Information of Discloser except as expressly set forth in this Agreement. 9. Remedies. Recipient agrees that any violation or threatened violation of this Agreement may cause irreparable injury to Discloser, entitling Discloser to seek injunctive relief in addition to all legal remedies. 10. General. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state of California without reference to conflict of laws principles. This Agreement may not be amended except by a writing signed by both Discloser and Recipient. Neither party shall assign or transfer any rights or obligations under this Agreement without the prior written consent of the other party. Any assignment in violation of this provision will be void. This Agreement will be binding upon Recipient’s heirs, successors and assigns. This Agreement sets forth the entire understanding and agreement of the parties with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersedes all other oral or written representations and understandings.
