JOB LOCATION

This is a US REMOTE position.  

COMPENSATION

$150,000 - $210,000 / year, Exempt, with a discretionary bonus of up to 10%.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Sensei Ag is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Greenhouse Construction, to act as the owner’s representative and manage all activities associated with the design and construction of greenhouse and capital improvement projects. You will oversee projects from start to finish and bring proven leadership qualities, strong interpersonal communication skills, task ownership, and a healthy work ethic to the construction of Sensei Ag’s expanding greenhouse network. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Direct activities of architects, engineers, and consultants in executing Sensei Ag’s program requirements. 
  • Prepare project scopes of work, budgets, and schedules, and uphold their adherence. 
  • Lead bidding and procurement, and coordinate and facilitate general construction activities. 
  • Ensure contractor compliance with contract documents and monitor progress, commissioning, and close-out. 
  • Attain permit issuances and encourage a safe working environment. 
  • Participate in site acquisitions and due diligence. 
  • Control project documentation, including historical construction data and BIM and VDC frameworks. 
  • Develop procedures, processes, and models to solve complex project issues and challenges. 
  • Maintain a positive and courteous relationship among all stakeholders. 

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction project management or owner’s representation of Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) structures or complex new buildings in the commercial real estate or life sciences sectors. 
  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related discipline. 
  • Demonstrate understanding and successful application of general construction terminology and processes. 
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Read and interpret detailed construction drawings and specifications and communicate findings with the team. 
  • Compose business letters, RFPs, exhibits, summaries, and reports, using proper format, diction, and style. 
  • Ability to interpret the intent of the contract documents and mediate disputes.  
  • Handle job costing with tracking of actual costs compared to budgets. 
  • Ability to oversee BIM and VDC implementation processes. 
  • Proficient in the use of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project. 

Bonus points if you have...

  • Experience with Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) design and construction. 
  • Licensed architect, engineer, and/or contractor. 
  • LEED Accredited Professional. 
  • Proficiency in Revit and Autodesk Construction Cloud. 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel up to 20% of the time, visiting sites twice a month.
