Full Stack Developer

California

About the Role:

Sensible Care is hiring a full-stack developer who will help us build and maintain our tele-therapy platform and native mobile applications. The ideal candidate will be a team player excited to join a group of like-minded, talented people who are inclusive, respectful, and thoughtful and who value fresh ideas and want to tackle hard problems. If improving and enhancing the experience and access of our highly sought-after Behavioral Health Services sounds exciting and rewarding, we would love to talk to you!

Our current tech stack uses Laravel (PHP) for the back end with a Postgres database. We use Vue for the front end on the web and Flutter for iOS and Android. While this post is for a mid-level developer, we are open to hiring at other levels for the right candidate.

Who You Are:

A Craftsperson: You enjoy and take pride in all aspects of your projects from conception to solution and get as much satisfaction from continually improving something as you do from starting something new.

Autonomous: You’re able to take a set of project requirements — or even a well-described idea— and turn it into a working product without much assistance.

Curious: You interested in branching out to other areas (devops/cloud engineering? AI/ML? UI/UX? etc.) and value the opportunity to do so.

Fearless: You’re not intimidated by challenges and welcome the opportunity to participate in all phases of software development as needed.

Team Player: You’re comfortable working cross-functionally with different teams and departments (both technical and non-technical).

What You’ll Do:

The key responsibility of this position is to develop end-to-end solutions for our clients and for internal use. You will be working with a small group of developers and project leaders and join the team that is tasked with building and improving the systems that will support our continued growth and nationwide expansion. If you're on the fence or unsure if you’ll meet the requirements, please apply if you can:

  • Write front-end and back-end code have a solid grasp of coding best practices
  • Use a framework to create performant, reliable HTTP-based APIs (such as Laravel).
  • Wire APIs to a modern front-end framework (we use Vue.js)
  • Employ third-party libraries and SDKs to extend the capabilities of first-party applications.
  • Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and understand the importance of testing.
  • Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot your systems in staging and production environments.

What You Need:

  • 3+ years of hands-on, production-level software development experience, preferably with some or all of our tech stack
  • Experience with Flutter, and especially with Flutter bloc.
  • Familiarity with git and understanding of the basics of CI/CD
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • A willingness to take initiative and ownership in a small-company environment
  • The ability to work remotely in an efficient manner
  • Healthcare or HealthTech industry experience is a plus, but not required

What We Offer:

  • Excellent compensation including competitive salary + bonus
  • 401(k) account with contribution matching
  • Gym membership stipend
  • 15 vacation days, 5 sick days, and paid holidays annually
  • Health, Dental, and Vision coverage for you and your family

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
