
9. Research Engineer - Perception

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, train, and validate deep learning architectures (e.g., CNNs, point-based networks, transformers) for LiDAR-based segmentation, classification, detection, tracking, and prediction tasks.
- Research and prototype new algorithms to improve the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of LiDAR perception engine.
- Handle large-scale 3D point cloud datasets, including preprocessing, labeling, and feature extraction. Employ best practices in data management, versioning, and pipeline automation.
- Integrate deep learning models into a high-performance 3D perception engine.
- Research on camera-based segmentation, detection, and classification to complement LiDAR perception.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Strong foundation in mathematics, particularly in linear algebra, calculus, and statistics.
- Deep understanding of the latest deep learning methodologies and emerging trends in the field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Python, including proficiency in data manipulation (NumPy, Pandas) and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges, rapidly learn new tools, and deliver effective solutions in dynamic environments.
- Good team player with great communication skills.
Preferences
- Experience with C++ and CUDA.
- Familiarity with perception algorithms for LiDAR or camera sensors, especially in domains like autonomous vehicles or robotics.
- Track record of publications or open-source contributions in computer vision or machine learning.
