Mission of the Role
We are looking for a Tech Lead Manager (TLM) to join our Platform Software team. This role is ideal for a seasoned software engineer with deep technical expertise and a passion for mentoring and growing engineering teams. As a TLM, you will lead a group of talented engineers (around 10 people), contribute to complex codebases, and help shape our engineering culture and technical direction.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of platform software engineers.
- Contribute hands-on to the design, development, and maintenance of complex software systems, primarily using Modern C++.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, other engineering teams, and leadership to align technical execution with business goals.
- Advocate for and implement best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD, code reviews, testing strategies, and documentation.
- Play a central role in building and evolving a strong engineering culture that values technical excellence, craftsmanship, ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Basic Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience as a professional software engineer, or equivalent technical depth and breadth.
- Experience working with large and complex codebases.
- Strong understanding of core computer science principles, including computer architecture, operating systems, data structures, and algorithms.
- Hands-on proficiency with Modern C++.
- Interest or willingness to serve as an engineering team leader. Prior people management experience is not required, but a strong commitment to becoming a great manager is.
- Passion for continuous learning and professional growth, both individually and as a team.
- Enthusiasm for adopting and promoting modern engineering practices and tools.
- Comfortable communicating in English in a professional engineering setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience leading a team or mentoring engineers.
- Experience in building and scaling platform-level or system-level software.
