About the Role 

We are seeking a business-oriented attorney with 3–7 years of experience in real estate transactions, brokerage operations, and general corporate matters to join our legal team. This role will serve as a legal partner to brokerage operations, marketing, technology, and other business teams, supporting executive leadership within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. 

The ideal candidate combines strong contract drafting capabilities with pragmatic risk assessment and the ability to operate efficiently in a scaling organization. 

Responsibilities 

  • Provide guidance on state licensing, broker compliance, and transaction risk management 
  • Support expansion into new markets and operational scaling initiatives 
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor agreements, SaaS agreements, commercial leases, NDAs, and service agreements 
  • Develop and maintain contract templates and playbooks to streamline deal velocity 
  • Manage outside counsel where applicable 
  • Oversee and respond to licensing, ethics, and fair housing complaints 
  • Provide guidance on intellectual property protection (trademarks, brand assets, content rights) 
  • Counsel on advertising law and marketing compliance (including digital campaigns and influencer partnerships) 
  • Support data privacy compliance efforts (CCPA and related frameworks) 
  • Develop and maintain internal policies and compliance processes as the company scales

Qualifications 

  • JD from an accredited law school 
  • Admitted and in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar, with no disciplinary history; admission to the California Bar or another Western U.S. jurisdiction, including the Mountain West, preferred. 
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience at a law firm and/or in-house 
  • Strong background in real estate transactions and brokerage operations 
  • Experience with litigation management, intellectual property, advertising law, and data privacy preferred 
  • Demonstrated excellence in contract drafting and negotiation 
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment 
  • Business-minded, practical, and solutions-oriented 

Skills 

  • Experience supporting a high-growth or venture-backed company 
  • Comfort balancing legal risk with commercial strategy 
  • Ability to build scalable legal infrastructure (templates, workflows, training) 
  • Strong executive communication skills 
  • Operational mindset (not purely academic/legal-theoretical)
