Senior Director of Sales, Europe

SIMPL Business Unit — Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)

Seyond

Location: Germany preferred (open to strong candidates elsewhere in Europe)

Reports to: Philip Lassner, Head of Global ITS Business (ex-US/China)

Team: SIMPL Business Unit — LiDAR-based smart intersection and highway detection

Employment type: Full-time

About Seyond SIMPL

SIMPL is scaling its international footprint across Europe, APAC, and emerging markets, and is building out dedicated regional sales leadership to match the growth already underway in the Americas.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Director of Sales to build and lead SIMPL’s sales function across Europe — a role modeled on the regional sales leadership Seyond has already established in the Americas. You will report directly to Philip Lassner, Head of Global ITS Business, and will sit above SIMPL’s country-level sales representatives across Europe, giving the region a single accountable sales leader for the first time.

This is a player-coach role. We need someone who has personally carried and exceeded a sales quota — not a candidate whose background is purely sales operations or account management — and who can also recruit, coach, and manage a small, distributed team of regional reps as the European organization scales.

What You'll Do

  • Build and lead SIMPL’s European sales organization, recruiting, onboarding, and coaching country and regional sales representatives.
  • Personally own and close strategic opportunities while the regional team is being built out, transitioning toward a team-quota model as the organization scales.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategy across both SIMPL verticals: urban intersection management and inter-urban highway/tunnel/tolling detection.
  • Manage and grow relationships with European distributors, system integrators, and OEM partners, alongside direct engagement with end-user agencies and pilot customers.
  • Own the European sales pipeline and forecast in HubSpot, maintaining accurate deal ownership, stage progression, and close-date discipline.
  • Represent SIMPL at European trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
  • Partner with SIMPL’s European engineering team on technical qualification and solution scoping for major opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Global ITS Business and BU leadership on regional pricing, deal structuring, and strategic account planning.
  • Establish clear rep-level KPIs that balance new-business generation with existing-account growth, supported by weekly activity tracking.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in ITS, smart infrastructure, industrial IoT/sensors, or another technical, tender-driven market.
  • A proven personal quota-carrying track record as an individual contributor — a genuine “hunter,” not primarily an account manager or sales-ops leader.
  • Experience building or leading a distributed regional sales team, ideally spanning multiple European countries.
  • Comfort managing both channel relationships (distributors, OEMs, system integrators) and direct end-user/agency sales cycles.
  • Experience navigating public-sector or government tender processes is a strong plus.
  • Fluent English required; German or another major European language is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.

Nice to Have

  • An existing network in European traffic management, tolling, or highway agencies.
  • Experience selling LiDAR, radar, or other sensor-based detection technologies.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or a comparable CRM.

Compensation

Competitive base and incentive package, benchmarked to Director-level sales leadership roles in the European technology/industrial sector. Final compensation band to be confirmed following market benchmarking.

Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
