Regional Sales Executive  – ITS & Smart Infrastructure (Western Europe)

Company:  Seyond Europe GmbH

Covering Region: Western Europe

About Seyond

Seyond is a global provider of image‑grade LiDAR technology, enabling high‑precision 3D perception for automotive, intelligent transportation, robotics, and industrial automation applications. Founded in Silicon Valley in 2016, Seyond builds technologies that bridge the digital and physical worlds—making mobility and infrastructure safer, smarter, and more autonomous.

In 2025, Seyond shipped over 332,000 LiDAR units worldwide, achieving 45% year‑on‑year growth. With a positive gross margin the company has entered a new phase of sustainable, high‑quality growth, driven by scale, operational excellence, and a strong product portfolio.

Seyond operates a global footprint, with R&D centers in Silicon Valley and Suzhou and manufacturing facilities in the United States and China. The company is a pioneer in the mass production of both 1550 nm and 905 nm LiDAR technologies, supporting deployment in real‑world, high‑volume applications across multiple industries.

At Seyond, you’ll work with international teams at the forefront of perception technology, helping bring advanced LiDAR solutions from development into large‑scale production and customer deployment. We offer an environment that values technical excellence, collaboration, and real‑world impact—shaping how machines see and understand the world around them.

About Seyond Europe

Seyond Europe GmbH is the sole subsidiary of the Seyond Group in Europe. Based in Eschborn, Germany, Seyond Europe is responsible for business development, technical support, and logistics across Europe, India, Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. We work closely with customers and partners to deploy advanced LiDAR solutions across a wide range of applications.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly driven, entrepreneurial Sales Professional — a true field hunter — to build Seyond’s presence and pipeline across the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Smart Infrastructure, and Transportation Technology markets in Western Europe. This is a greenfield territory role: there is no inherited pipeline, no warm leads list, and no existing customer base to manage. You will be expected to create the market from scratch. You will be entrusted with building the sales pipeline from the ground up through proactive outbound prospecting, distributor and channel partner recruitment, system integrator development, and direct engagement with public-sector agencies and infrastructure project owners. You will own the full commercial motion — from first contact to signed contract — across multi-stakeholder, long-cycle deals typical of the ITS and Smart Infrastructure space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, target, and develop new business opportunities across Western Europe through outbound prospecting — cold outreach, event networking, industry conferences, and direct engagement with transportation agencies, municipalities, and project developers; do not wait for inbound leads
  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities in HubSpot
  • Drive pilot / proof-of-concept opportunities as entry points to larger deals
  • Navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments involving municipalities, national transport ministries, road operators, system integrators, EPC contractors, and procurement bodies — managing long sales cycles (12–36 months) with discipline and persistence
  • Execute a structured, high-cadence outbound prospecting motion (calls, emails, LinkedIn, in-person visits, trade shows) to generate qualified leads from scratch — with measurable weekly activity targets
  • Own the full sales cycle end-to-end — from cold prospecting through technical evaluation, proposal development, commercial negotiation, and contract close — while keeping leadership informed on key deals
  • Maintain accurate pipeline data including:
    • Deal stages
    • Confidence levels
    • Next steps
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop distributors, value-added resellers (VARs), and channel partners across Western Europe — building a partner ecosystem that extends Seyond’s reach into markets and verticals beyond direct sales coverage
  • Identify and develop strategic relationships with system integrators (SIs), OEM partners, and technology alliances operating in ITS, traffic management, tolling, smart city, and transportation infrastructure segments
  • Develop and execute a formal territory plan — segmenting the Western European market by country, vertical, and buyer type — with clear prioritization logic, outreach sequencing, and quarterly pipeline build targets
  • Monitor public procurement portals, EU-funded infrastructure programmes, and national transport investment plans to identify early-stage project opportunities and position Seyond ahead of formal tender processes
  • Collaborate with marketing on localized messaging and campaigns

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of B2B/B2G sales experience in technology, infrastructure, or industrial markets — with a demonstrable track record of building pipeline and closing deals in Western Europe (experience in ITS, Smart Cities, Traffic Technology, LiDAR, Sensors, Industrial Automation, or Robotics strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline from zero in a new or underdeveloped territory — candidates must be able to cite specific examples of markets or verticals they personally opened through outbound effort alone
  • Experience selling complex, high-value solutions with long sales cycles (12+ months) and multi-stakeholder buying committees — this is not a transactional or high-volume sales role
  • Fluent in English plus at least one major Western European language; German strongly preferred given the operational hub in Eschborn — French, Dutch, Spanish, or Italian also valued
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy — setting your own priorities, managing your schedule, and driving results without daily supervision — while collaborating effectively with international, cross-functional teams when required
  • Willingness to travel within the EMEA region as required.
  • Experience recruiting and managing distributors, resellers, or channel partners — or direct experience as a business development lead building a partner ecosystem in a new geography
  • Based in or within reasonable proximity to Germany (preferred, not required); must be comfortable working in a remote, field-based model with limited in-office time

Preferred Background & Domain Experience

  • Candidates with sales, business development, or technical pre-sales experience in any of the following areas will be prioritised:
    • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Traffic Technology, Tolling, or Smart Cities
    • Public sector / Government / Infrastructure procurement (EU-funded projects, national road agencies, urban mobility programmes)
  • Industrial Automation, Robotics, Machine Vision, LiDAR, Sensors, or Perception Technology
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing a channel/distributor network in one or more Western European markets

Who You Are: The Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A true hunter: you generate pipeline through personal effort and outbound activity, not by waiting for leads to arrive
  • An entrepreneurial market builder: you are energised by the challenge of building something from scratch and see a blank territory as an opportunity, not a disadvantage
  • Resilient and rejection-proof: long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder procurement do not frustrate you — you manage them with structure, patience, and persistence
  • Technically credible: you can hold a substantive conversation with a traffic engineer, a procurement officer, and a C-level executive — and adapt your message accordingly
  • Commercially driven: you understand that activity without results is not success — you set your own targets, track your own metrics, and hold yourself accountable to pipeline and revenue outcomes

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent pipeline generation within first 60–90 days
  • Pilot opportunities launched within first 3–6 months
  • Progression of deals into high-confidence (Commit) category
  • Contribution to first closed deals within 6–12 months
  • Distributor and channel partner network partially established in at least one Western European country within the first 6 months

What We Offer

  • A key sales role representing cutting-edge LiDAR technology in fast-growing markets.
  • High level of responsibility and direct impact on regional business development.
  • Close collaboration with experienced technical and commercial teams globally.
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with performance.
  • A dynamic, professional, and international working environment.

Base Salary Range:

  • €50K – €80K EUR base (commensurate with experience); plus commission/bonus structure
  • Commensurate to experience, location, and other factors

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
