Manager of Impact and Evaluation

San Francisco AIDS Foundation (SFAF) envisions a future where health justice is achieved for all people living with or at risk for HIV. What is the position? 

The Manager of Impact and Evaluation has a vital role on our Strategy Team developing and implementing evaluation infrastructure across programs and strategic priorities. In this role you will lead program monitoring and evaluation, support strategic planning, and ensure quality improvement and organizational learning through accurate data analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong evaluation methodology skills, a passion for data equity, and the ability to work across teams to embed a culture of learning and accountability throughout the organization.  

What are the main responsibilities?  

  • Develop and implement evaluation frameworks and logic models to assess program effectiveness, using both quantitative and qualitative methods.  
  • Analyze program data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities while generating actionable recommendations to deepen program impact.  
  • Work alongside the Stategy Team on strategic plan OKRs, and preparing data reports and visualizations to translate complex information into clear, accessible, and actionable insights.  
  • Collaborate closely with the fund development team to create evaluation plans for grant applications, ensuring alignment with program design and funder expectations.  
  • Support evaluation components of grant reporting including data collection, analysis, documentation, evaluation, and narrative write-ups. 
  • Provide analyses of city, state, and national data to SFAF’s program teams, operational leads, and partners through presentations and social media. 

 
Who are we looking for?  

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work, or related field.  
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in program planning, evaluation, and grant writing – preferably in HIV/AIDS, STIs, Hepatitis C, or related public health fields.  
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and data management skills utilizing R, SPSS, or equivalent analysis tools.  
  • Strong proficiency with reviewing and reporting epidemiology data and using it to inform programs and strategic planning.  
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS/STI-related issues and a commitment to addressing them.  
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication abilities.  

 
Where is the position located? 

This position is primarily located at 940 Howard Street, San Francisco, however it may occasionally require traveling to other office locations or off-site meetings as required by the job. Role may include evening and weekend coverage. 

 
What we offer? 

Salary/Hourly Rate : $96,000 - $106,000 

Benefits : SFAF is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package for our full-time employees. We offer combined PTO/Sick Time Off of 24 days for the first two years of employment, 29 days after two years of employment. For retirement we offer a 403(b) Plan and SFAF matches employee contributes (1 to 1) up to 3% of Salary.
