Summary of the Position
Are you a strategic finance leader with a passion for workforce financial planning and a deep understanding of global compensation dynamics? We are seeking a Senior Manager, FP&A – Global Compensation Planning to lead all aspects of compensation-related financial forecasting, actuals, and reporting across the organization. This highly visible role partners closely with HR, Total Rewards, and Finance leadership to support strategic workforce decisions, optimize personnel costs, and drive operational efficiency.
As a key member of the Global FP&A team, you will oversee a team of analysts and own the compensation planning process end-to-end — developing models, enhancing systems, and providing actionable insights to leadership. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership & Business Partnership
- Serve as the global lead for compensation forecasting and personnel expense planning, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, and other workforce-related costs.
- Partner with HR, Total Rewards, and regional finance teams to ensure alignment of workforce strategies with financial goals.
- Own the financial planning calendar and deliverables for global compensation, including Budget, Forecasts, LRP (Long-Range Planning), and Monthly Close/Variance reporting.
Reporting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Develop, manage, and enhance detailed financial models to track and forecast global compensation and headcount.
- Provide monthly and quarterly reporting on actuals vs. forecast for personnel expenses, partnering with Accounting and HR to explain variances.
- Deliver executive-level dashboards and reports with insightful commentary and analysis to drive decision-making.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Manage and mentor a team of analysts supporting compensation and workforce finance.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in financial analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data consistency and strategic alignment across the enterprise.
Process Optimization & Automation
- Lead initiatives to automate and streamline reporting processes using tools like Power BI, Excel macros, and financial systems integrations.
- Identify areas for improvement in data flow, planning systems, and modeling approaches.
Confidential Data Handling & Compliance
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and compliance in managing sensitive employee compensation data.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies for personnel-related financial data.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: 6–10 years of progressive experience in FP&A with a strong focus on compensation finance, headcount planning, or workforce strategy.
- Industry: Experience in global or matrixed environments; consumer goods or retail experience is a plus.
- Technical: Expert in Excel and financial modeling; experience with Power BI, HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, Greenhouse), and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) is highly preferred.
- Analytical & Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strong business acumen; able to translate complex data into executive-ready insights.
- Leadership: Proven track record in managing and developing high-performing teams; comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives.
