
(Senior) Tooling Engineer

OVERVIEW:
The ideal applicant would have strong knowledge of injection tooling processes excellent tooling design experience as background and development skills. Problem solving and good documentation skills are also required. The candidate must speak and write English and Chinese proficiently. Global manufacturing experience is desired and working travelling is required.

Responsibilities:
- Travel to OEM, tooling supplier, molding shop sites for injection molding issues solution, supplier technical assessment, process development and validation, or issue resolution.
- Review DFM with NPD and NPI, OEM tooling engineering, tooling supplier etc.
- Review and improve tooling 2D&3D drawing with OEM and tooling supplier.
- Design experience and familiar with complex structure tooling at O/molding, double color tooling, tooling with hot runner system etc. Strong tooling concept for tooling design.
- Handle and analyze for tooling capacity, yield issues for project and drive root cause corrective action across internal and supplier factories
- Estimate tooling capacity analysis base on molding data and make out duplicated tools to rebuild and meet production ramp plan.
- Monitor tooling build and modify process and ensure on time per project plan.
- Deal with sudden tooling and molding issues at molding supplier with effective solutions.
- Travel to supplier sites to support process development efforts and issue resolution per project need.
- Travel to supplier to join tooling trail per project need.
- Travel to OEM to join engineering build(EB) to per project need.
- Join FAI review meeting to judget dimension out of spec case by tooling or injection.
- Ensure tooling are delivered on time; meet performance, quality and reliability goals.
- Participate in Critical Engineering Reviews to ensure product and process design for tooling making and molding.
Required Skills/Qualifications / Experience:
- Experience in Plastics tooling or Metal Tooling, Mold Design engineering. At least 5+ years of experience in plastic/metal tooling design and tooling project management development.
- Proficient knowledge for software at Pro/E, AutoCAD, Excel and Power Point.
- Familiar with mold flow analysis will be a plus.
- Proficient oral and written English communication skills.
- Strong technical experience and interpersonal skills in a team across different function team.
- Proactive, hardworking, self-motivation.
- Can work independently with limited supervision.
- Can work under pressure and different time zone.
Education/Certifications/Affiliations:
- Bachelor of Engineering
- Fluent Chinese in reading and speaking
- English basic reading and writing
Travel Requirements:
- International traveling per project need.
