VP, Social Strategy & Analytics

Reports To: SVP, Global Social

Location: Needham, MA or NYC / Hybrid *on site 3x a week

Team: Global Social

Role Summary

Own the strategy, platform intelligence, and measurement backbone of Global Social. This VP-level role turns social signals into faster, better decisions across content, creators, platforms, markets, and investment. The ideal candidate is a social media expert first, with strong analytics and data fluency, able to define what social needs to know, why it matters, and how those insights should change the way the organization operates. This leader will set the agenda for AI-enabled social intelligence, partnering with Analytics, Enterprise Data, and IT to ensure the function has the right methodology, infrastructure, and scalable data products to support global decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Global Social measurement framework, including KPI definitions, reporting cadence, platform benchmarks, and a certified metric layer for dashboards, executive reporting, and AI-assisted insight generation across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, and Pinterest.
  • Define the social data requirements and taxonomy across campaigns, creators, assets, markets, accounts, audiences, and posts so performance can be consistently understood, compared, and acted on across regions.
  • Shape the social analytics tool and data ecosystem in partnership with Analytics, Enterprise Data, and IT, ensuring the function has the right listening, reporting, dashboarding, taxonomy, data quality, and governance standards to support fast, confident decision-making.
  • Champion AI adoption within the social measurement function, using agents and automation to reduce manual reporting, flag anomalies, identify emerging trends, and surface actionable insights faster, while maintaining clear ownership, accuracy standards, and human review for executive-facing output.
  • Lead measurement design beyond standard reporting, including creative testing, paid amplification learnings, brand lift inputs, and approaches to better understand incrementality where data allows.
  • Serve as the definitive social platform expert, staying ahead of algorithm shifts, new formats, platform-native analytics tools, creator behavior, and content mechanics, and translating those signals into actionable guidance for content, creative, creator, paid, and regional teams.
  • Partner with Marketing Analytics to connect platform-level social data to business KPIs, including revenue, POS, share, NPD performance, brand lift, and commercial impact, while ensuring the methodology is clear and consistent.
  • Translate performance data into a clear point of view for executive audiences, supporting Social Signal Engine workstream reporting across viral velocity, full-funnel activation, creative performance, and influencer impact.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing social intelligence and analytics team responsible for reporting, insight generation, ad hoc analysis, listening, tool administration, and continuous improvement of the measurement operating model.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years in social media, social strategy, social analytics, measurement, platform intelligence, or data strategy, with senior leadership experience building or scaling a global function, operating model, team, or KPI framework.
  • Social media SME first, with deep platform expertise across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X, Pinterest, influencer, earned, paid, organic, creator, and community ecosystems.
  • Platform-side experience welcomed, particularly in data, product, partnerships, or measurement roles at TikTok, Meta, Pinterest, YouTube, or similar platforms.
  • Strong data fluency, including the ability to query platform and BI data directly, understand data models, and work effectively with Enterprise Data, IT, or analytics engineering partners. Advanced SQL or similar technical experience preferred, but not required if the candidate has strong data product ownership experience.
  • Experience creating or governing metric definitions, data dictionaries, taxonomy, or reporting standards across teams or regions. Comfortable specifying requirements to a central data or engineering team rather than building a parallel technical stack.
  • Working fluency with AI and automation tools for reporting, anomaly detection, trend identification, and predictive analytics, with a clear understanding of accuracy standards, human review, and escalation paths when outputs are incomplete or incorrect.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to translate complex platform and performance signals into clear, decisive recommendations.
  • CPG, DTC, retail, consumer electronics, platform, or agency-side experience preferred.
