C3PO Critical Care Technician - Maintenance

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday Days, 10-hour Shift

Overview, Essential Duties, and Responsibilities:

 

 Overview

The mission of the C3PO Critical Care Team is to develop the teams’ capability to identify and correct equipment defects and to set and maintain base equipment conditions. These skills enable equipment to always operate at base conditions and extend equipment life through the elimination of forced deterioration. The C3PO Critical Care Team will enable teams to achieve world class targets with 100% engagement and a zero-loss mentality. The C3PO Critical Care Technician maintains the efficiency of packaging machinery and equipment in a continuous improvement-based environment, while also creating and maintaining a safe work environment.  The position is responsible for minor cleaning and the electrical or mechanical setting up of equipment. This position is also responsible for installing new components, repairing, and maintaining packaging equipment and machinery as part of the critical care team. This position Inspects equipment for proper functioning, performs preventative maintenance, and corrective maintenance per manufacturer's specifications. Additionally, this position will diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs or adjustments as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of packaging equipment during planned downtime
  • Responsible for cleaning to support proper identification of defects to allow for proper completion of base condition work
  • Performs packaging equipment sub assembly rebuilds as part of corrective maintenance.
  • Works in a team with Sanitation and Packaging operators to perform critical care maintenance.
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of packaging machines
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals, schematics, and bulletins as needed to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests and adjusts of packaging equipment.
  • Performs regular preventive maintenance and inspections on machine and equipment within plants critical care program.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detects faulty operations and defective material; reports those and any unusual situations to
  • Ensures all labor, parts, and equipment information is documented on work orders as per the work management process.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas

 

 Detailed Duties and Responsibilities

 

Mechanical and Electrical:

 

Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a packaging equipment; Scales, Baggers, Seasoners, Case Packers, Case Erectors, and seal checkers.

  • Capable of performing all minor mechanical rebuilds and assists in all major rebuilds.
  • Can perform set-up procedures on packaging production plant equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs most mechanical issues on plant packaging equipment.
  • Understands operation of most auxiliary support systems.
  • Able to replace all like-for-like electrical components and set them up.
  • Troubleshoots some electrical issues using proper tools and techniques.
  • May require assistance with device replacement setup.

 

Education and Work Experience

Requirements:  *Must have completed the Ramsay Technical Assessment and successfully achieved greater than Tier II, three  years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience; experience with mechanical systems (e.g., gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings), product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs), troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns (pinpointing and fixing breakdowns), and reading mechanical drawings (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics)

The Maintenance Technician position is in a manufacturing environment, which includes:
