Position Summary
SHEIN Global Security & Risk Management is a global security organization that oversees security infrastructure, risk management, data privacy, governance and regulatory compliance across SHEIN’s global footprint. It is composed of a team of security professionals, innovators and thought leaders that have had decades of global security experience, led large scale transformations, and served in Fortune 500 executive roles.

We’re seeking a full-time Privacy Intern (Official title: Intern) for our San Diego-based office, who will be responsible for providing support to the organization’s privacy program by researching new privacy laws and regulations, supporting privacy analysts, preparing privacy impact assessments, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to ensure the adequate safeguarding of personal data. This is a full-time 8-week internship opportunity, starting on June 16, 2025, and ending on August 8, 2025.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct research and control mappings against regulatory requirements and/or industry standards
- Promote privacy across the organization by creating awareness materials such as infographics, templates, and newsletters
- Collaborate with key stakeholders (including Legal, Security, Marketing, Product Development, etc.) on various business initiatives to assess whether data collection and usage practices are transparent, protect user privacy, and mitigate risk
- Support privacy risk assessments by documenting assessment scope and assessment results
- Evaluate effectiveness of privacy processes
- Support integration and maturation of policy, compliance, and risk frameworks
Job Requirements
- Currently pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in Pre-Law, Information Security or Information Assurance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex and technical issues to all levels of personnel
- Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to prioritize accordingly
- High level of personal integrity, with the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and exudes the appropriate level of judgment and maturity
