Position Summary
We’re seeking a full-time Fashion Design Manager for our Los Angeles-based corporate office. The Fashion Designer Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day design processes by creating top-selling items. This includes selecting their models, styling, and art direction during the photoshoot.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the research and development of seasonal trends
- Translate design direction into original designs. Work cross-functionally with design team to create a cohesive collection across categories. Ensure an appropriate balance of style assortment amongst necklines, sleeves, silhouettes, and lengths
- Continually research trends to bring newness and update best-selling products. Monitor company seasonal hindsight reports for product opportunities and company needs
- Create original hand and illustrator flat sketches. Present seasonal research and original designs
- Tech pack preparation for all categories owned by team: Create technical flat sketches, initial spec measurements, construction details, BOM chart completion with full fabric and trim details, follow-up on artwork files to ensure proper color/scale is determined
- Manage daily maintenance and upkeep of physical & digital design boards. Ensure information is most up to date
- Manage all follow up on fabric development and sourcing with cross-functional PD/Production partners
- Support lead designer with daily email follow-up from Vendor and PD partners during the development stage
- Provide daily guidance & partnership to Assistant/Associate Designers to ensure alignment on team goals
- Attend Proto Fittings with Sr. Designer: make note & update any style changes in tech packs after fittings
- Supports Design team with sample organization & merchandising of seasonal product
- Assists with preparation of any product Decks created for presentations and Buying Teams
- Develop 50-60 new designs per month
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design preferred
- 7-10+ years of design experience in a similar role
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Fast fashion experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of development process, garment construction, spec measurements, fabrication, and fitting
- Must be able to sketch by hand and create technical flats in Illustrator
- Comprehensive understanding of development process, garment construction, spec measurements, fabrication, and fitting
- Team player, open to taking direction and able to work well under pressure
Nice to have
- Fluency in Mandarin or Korean is highly preferred

Pay Range
$100,700 - $143,200 USD
