Position Summary 

We’re seeking a full-time Merchandise/Product Development Specialist (official title: Merchandise Specialist) for our Los Angeles-based corporate office. The Merchandise Specialist will support the Director of Product in building, launching, and maintaining a successful sub-brand at SHEIN. This role requires a sharp sense of fashion trends, the ability to identify consumer habits, and a strong understanding of product development and social media trends. The Merchandise Specialist must work with speed and accuracy, excelling in cross-functional collaboration. As a key player in the brand building process, the Specialist will work closely with the Director to ensure success.

 Job Responsibilities 

  • Conduct research and development for women’s apparel categories within the local sub-brand, identifying both micro and macro trends. Present insights and recommendations to the Director.
  • Prepare detailed development briefs for the overseas team, ensuring minimal follow-up is required and maintaining control of development costs.
  • Develop strategies for core fabrics across all categories.
  • Drive the development of high-quality products that resonate with the brands core demographic. 
  • Analyze product performance, identifying best and slow-selling items. Develop and implement merchandising strategies with the Director's guidance.
  • Collaborate with studio and marketing teams to align product directives.
  • Manage post-photography processes, including image review and selection. 

 Job Requirements 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in e-commerce merchandising or buying.
  • Trend-driven and creative, with knowledge of designers and influencers.
  • Experience in product development with an understanding of fabrics, construction, and fit.
  • Highly organized, with strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of retail math.
  • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic, suitable for an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Must be available to work on-site, Monday through Friday.

$69,805 - $77,200 USD
