Scientist/Senior Scientist - T Cell Biology and T Cell Profiling in Autoimmune Disease

San Francisco, CA

We are a well-funded biotech startup that has developed a suite of proprietary technologies combining ultrahigh throughput single-cell functional screening with computational AI models to advance the development of immunotherapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases. We are currently looking for a T cell immunologist to join our interdisciplinary team. The candidate is expected to adapt quickly and communicate well, especially in a fast-paced startup environment. He/she will collaborate with other team members and be part of an exciting journey. We pay competitive salaries with bonus and equity, plus full benefits that include medical, dental, vision, 401k match, commuter benefits and daily lunch.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute TCR repertoire studies and single-cell profiling experiments to investigate immune responses in autoimmune and oncology settings.
  • Lead and contribute to research programs focused on uncovering T cell–driven mechanisms of autoimmune diseases and identifying novel TCRs for downstream applications.
  • Perform end-to-end TCR discovery using Shennon Bio’s proprietary platform, from experimental design through data interpretation.
  • Perform immunological assays including but not limited to multicolor flow cytometry, FACS sorting, ELISpot, cytokine profiling, and target killing.
  • Apply and optimize single-cell sequencing and immune profiling approaches to support internal discovery and translational research efforts.
  • Isolate, process, and bank primary human samples to support ongoing and future studies.
  • Engineer cell lines and primary T cells to enable functional validation and mechanistic studies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or a related field
  • Deep expertise in TCR repertoire studies and TCR discovery, particularly in the context of autoimmune diseases.
  • Extensive experience in single-cell sequencing and T cell profiling using NGS and other approaches.
  • Deep expertise in T cell immunology, antigen presentation, and T cell functional analysis.
  • Experience investigating autoimmune disease biology using patient-derived samples.
  • Skilled in Flow Cytometry, FACS sorting, and standard immunological assays.
  • Expertise in cell line engineering and T cell engineering is a plus.
