As a Bilingual (Spanish) Patient Engagement Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting patients throughout their medication journey. You’ll act as a trusted liaison between patients, pharmacists, clinicians, payors, and health system partners—ensuring timely refills, resolving pharmacy claims issues, and delivering compassionate, high-quality service in both English and Spanish.
This is a fully remote pharmacy role ideal for professionals who are detail-oriented, empathetic, technologically savvy, and motivated by meaningful patient impact.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll manage both inbound and outbound pharmacy communications, support medication adherence, and help remove access barriers for patients across diverse populations.
Core Responsibilities
📞 Handle inbound pharmacy calls and conduct proactive outbound refill and engagement calls in English and Spanish
✅ Educate and guide patients through the end-to-end medication refill process
💊 Coordinate prescription refills, including data entry and pharmacy claim adjudication
🔍 Perform prescription status checks and resolve adjudication or coverage issues
🤝 Serve as a liaison between patients, pharmacists, clinicians, payors, and internal support teams
🧾 Communicate with pharmacists and clinicians to clarify prescriptions and resolve discrepancies
❄️ Identify medications requiring special handling (e.g., refrigerated or hazardous) and ensure proper protocols
📊 Accurately document and maintain patient, prescription, and communication records across multiple systems
📈 Identify repeat issues and trends, escalating opportunities for workflow or process improvement
🔒 Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and healthcare privacy standards
🧠 Participate in ongoing training, quality assurance activities, and professional development
⏰ Maintain schedule flexibility to support health system partner needs
• 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday between 7:00am–7:00pm EST
• Occasional weekends as needed
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business and patient care needs evolve.
What We’re Looking For
Licensure & Certification
⭐ National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required
✅ Active State Pharmacy Technician registration (obtainable with national certification)
📄 Willingness to obtain additional required licensure within an agreed timeframe
• Continued employment contingent upon licensure compliance
Experience & Education
🎓 High school diploma or GED required
🧪 1–3 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred, particularly in:
- Medication refill management
- Pharmacy claim adjudication and insurance troubleshooting
- Specialty pharmacy or complex therapies
- Collaboration with clinical care teams
- Remote, call center, or high-volume pharmacy environments (strong plus)
Language Requirement
🗣️ Fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written) is required
- Ability to communicate complex healthcare and medication information clearly and compassionately in both languages
- Experience supporting diverse or underserved patient populations preferred

Comfortable with proactive outbound patient engagement
Strong collaboration skills across clinical, pharmacy, and payor teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to quickly learn new systems, platforms, and workflows

Remote Work Requirements
To ensure consistent patient care and team collaboration, remote team members must have:

🎥 Ability to keep camera on during most meetings with leaders and teammates
