Shift4 is seeking an experienced Chargebacks Senior Associate - EU to manage the end-to-end dispute resolution process for card transactions. This role acts as a critical link between merchants, issuing banks, and card schemes (like Visa/Mastercard) to investigate, document, and resolve financial disputes while maintaining high service standards.
Responsibilities will include:
- Engage directly with merchants and issuing banks to resolve and advise on card transaction queries and disputes
- Investigate, collect /compile data and prepare cases to represent chargebacks in accordance with company and card scheme requirements
- Analyse data and documentation, consulting both internally and externally to resolve client disputes
- Assume case ownership and decide on most appropriate course of action to take
- Establish and maintain relationships with key company clients and 3rd parties
- Work in close contact with other team members and other department to ensure targets are achieved
- Keep up to date with latest card scheme development regarding dispute management
- Troubleshoot and research processing errors
- Assist in documenting and reviewing policies and procedures
- Take responsibility for training & knowledge sharing with peers
- Assist in testing system/product functionality and enhancements
- Assist team leader and manager in specific tasks as needed
- Other generic duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Be highly proficient in both verbal and written English
- Have excellent organisational and interpersonal communication skills
- Be PC literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Have both analytical and creative thinking with good decision-making skills
- Strong attention to detail with time management skills and ability to prioritise
- Be Reliable, flexible and a good team player
- Be able to work on own initiative, with little direction under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Be driven and self-motivated to learn and develop
- Minimum 3 years work experience in a fast-paced multinational environment
- Strong personal and interactive skills with all levels of management
In addition, the ideal candidate should possess:
- Minimum Diploma Level of education
- Basic understanding of Finance principles
- At least 3 years work experience in Chargebacks, preferably from the acquiring side.
Compensation:
Shift4 applies a structured, market-informed approach to compensation.
Salary ranges are developed based on objective, gender-neutral criteria, such as internal job levels, scope of responsibilities, and external market data. The range listed for this position reflects the expected hiring range for qualified candidates and corresponds to the level and requirements of the role.
Actual compensation may vary depending on various factors, such as experience, skills, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Shift4’s compensation structures are subject to periodic review and ongoing alignment across regions. Additional components such as variable remuneration or other benefits may also apply based on eligibility and role type.
Salary Range: € 29,000 - € 32,000
