What You’ll Do:

As a Revenue Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely recognition of revenue in compliance with ASC 606 and internal accounting policies. You will be a key contributor to the month-end close process, revenue reporting, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. This role requires strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including preparation of revenue-related journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Ensure revenue and cost of goods sold (COGS) are recorded accurately in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Support the revenue accounting process as Shift4 continues to expand its Enterprise merchant vertical.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations in Blackline, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Assist in automation efforts and process improvements to streamline revenue accounting functions.
  • Help maintain SOX compliance by ensuring documentation of key revenue controls.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, Billing, and Sales, to support revenue reporting.
  • Support internal and external audit requests, including preparing schedules and supporting documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for revenue recognition exposure.
  • Basic understanding of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition principles (experience in SaaS or payments is a plus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas).
  • Experience with Oracle ERP (EBS/Fusion) or similar accounting software is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred, but Not Required

  • CPA eligibility or progress toward certification.
  • Experience with Blackline, Salesforce, or WDesk.

Monthly salary range 3000 - 4300 EUR gross depending on your experience.
