Account Executive: B2B Technology

We're looking for a Boston-based Account Executive with 2+ years of public relations experience who is passionate about technology, media relations, and helping innovative companies tell compelling stories. This role is ideal for a communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, understands the B2B technology landscape, and knows how to secure meaningful earned media coverage that drives business impact.

As an Account Executive, you'll play a key role in developing and executing integrated communications programs for technology clients ranging from high-growth startups to established industry leaders. Success in this role requires strong media relations skills, excellent writing abilities, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to embrace AI-powered tools that are transforming the communications profession.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with technology, business, trade, and vertical industry media at the local, national, and global levels.
  • Lead proactive media relations efforts, identifying opportunities to secure high-impact earned coverage, thought leadership placements, and executive visibility.
  • Develop creative, timely, and newsworthy media pitches that align client expertise with industry trends, breaking news, and emerging technologies.
  • Research, identify, and pursue speaking opportunities, awards, contributed content placements, and other thought leadership opportunities.
  • Monitor industry news, analyst activity, competitive landscapes, and market trends to uncover opportunities for client engagement and visibility.
  • Draft high-quality communications materials, including press releases, media pitches, bylined articles, executive briefing documents, messaging frameworks, and client correspondence.
  • Use AI tools to enhance research, media intelligence, content development, brainstorming, reporting, and workflow efficiency while maintaining strong editorial judgment and quality standards.
  • Support product launches, funding announcements, executive visibility programs, and integrated communications campaigns.
  • Track, analyze, and report on media coverage and program performance, providing actionable insights tied to business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with account teams to deliver strategic recommendations, exceptional client service, and flawless execution.
  • Contribute to account planning, status reporting, and day-to-day client management.
  • Communicate proactively with managers and team members, identifying opportunities, challenges, and solutions.
  • Manage billable time accurately and responsibly.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience in public relations, communications, or integrated marketing (agency experience strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated success securing media coverage and building relationships with business, technology, and trade journalists.
  • Strong understanding of the B2B technology landscape, including enterprise technology, software, cybersecurity, AI, cloud, data, digital transformation, or related sectors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics into compelling stories.
  • Experience using media intelligence and journalist engagement platforms such as Muck Rack, Cision, Qwoted, Propel, or similar tools.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and a strong interest in how AI is reshaping communications, content creation, media engagement, and agency workflows.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset and a desire to learn and grow within a high-performing team environment.
  • Based in the Boston area and able to work from our Boston office as part of our hybrid work model, with regular in-office collaboration expected.
