ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re seeking a highly motivated, goal-driven Senior Sales Account Executive with strong relationships and proven success in the independent jewelry and luxury watch and accessories market (or similar). This territory represents more than 25% of revenue for the WS channel, making this a key, high-impact role for Shinola.
The ideal candidate is a strategic business developer with a strong network in independent retail, a passion for craftsmanship, and an ability to grow profitable partnerships. You’ll manage an existing portfolio of high-value accounts while identifying and onboarding new retail partners aligned with Shinola’s positioning.
You thrive on the road—meeting with jewelers, assessing opportunities, and strengthening Shinola’s presence across your territory. You’re an analytical thinker and persuasive communicator who balances relationship-building with data-driven decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage & Grow Existing Territory Accounts
- Execute a territory sales strategy that drives sell-in and sell-through performance within assigned accounts.
- Conduct regular in-store visits (approx. 60%) to oversee open-to-buy, inventory turnover, replenishment, coop spend, visual merchandising, and sales associate training.
- Collaborate closely with buyers and store owners to ensure assortment and strategy align with market demand.
- Develop initiatives that strengthen account relationships, reduce return rates, and improve margins.
Develop New Business
- Leverage your network within the independent jewelry market to open new, high-potential accounts.
- Partner with the Director of Wholesale to identify growth opportunities and execute territory expansion plans.
- Build trust and credibility with independent retailers by understanding their unique needs and tailoring Shinola assortments accordingly.
Marketplace & Performance Analysis
- Provide bi-annual territory analysis to identify category trends, product opportunities, and pricing insights.
- Monitor key metrics (sell-through, WOS, returns) and use results to drive strategy.
- Recommend assortment and merchandising strategies that optimize productivity and brand presentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3–5 years of wholesale sales experience in the independent jewelry, watch, or accessories market
- Established relationships with key independent retailers in the Midwest region strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success driving territory growth and achieving sales targets
- Strong retail math and analytical skills; ability to build and analyze sales plans
- Skilled at training and motivating sales associates, maintaining premium merchandising standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with NuOrder, Netsuite, and “the Big Network” preferred
- Willingness to travel overnight as needed (up to 60%)
