Role Description:

We are seeking an innovative Manager, Global Payroll on our continually growing Accounting & Finance team.  The Manager, Global Payroll will be instrumental in helping set up processes and efficiencies within the department to position itself for exponential growth in the coming years. This role reports to the Director, Controller.

What you'll do:

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.  
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for all global entities, ensuring compliance with local regulations, labor laws, and tax requirements 
  • Manage a disbursed global payroll team across the US and India 
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.  
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.  
  • Manage payroll audits, statutory reporting, and year-end filings. 
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.  
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and posting of payroll/benefit journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP. 
  • Run equity payroll reporting, including stock options and other equity compensation plans, ensuring accurate calculation and reporting of related taxes. 
  • Establish and maintain standardized payroll processes and controls across all regions while balancing local requirements 
  • Work closely with People, Finance, and Legal to support business needs and employee experience 
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and escalation point for complex payroll inquiries and global pay related issues and policies 
  • Own global reporting and analytics providing insight and visibility into payroll costs, and trends 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.  
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills.  
  • Skilled in creating and maintaining complex Excel spreadsheets. 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. 
  • Proficient with payroll software (ADP Workforce Now & Deputy time reporting).  
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP software (Netsuite).

ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. The full base pay range for this position in our compensation architecture is $96,300 - $160,500. In addition to base salary, this role includes the opportunity to be eligible for participation in the Company's discretionary bonus plan based on Company's plans and in accordance with Company’s policies.
