Role Description:
As the Senior Production Planning Analyst supporting the ShipBob Innovation Center (SIC) in North Aurora, IL, you will play a critical role in delivering a world class experience for well-known brands. You will work directly with merchants to understand their demand, prioritize their order needs, and build tools and processes that allow our operators to focus on the right work, at the right time, and with the right resources.
You will come into the role with a solid technical skillset (SQL, Python, Excel, Data Visualization, Python, etc.), practical experience in manufacturing, operations, and/or supply chain, and obsessed with both operator and customer experience. You will be familiar with the fundamentals of capacity and labor planning (labor hours, process productivity, units per order, activity-based costing, etc.) and enjoy teaching others the fundamentals. You look forward to spending time on the floor to understand how your work translates to reality and are always comfortable presenting your work to senior leadership, both internally and externally (VP+). And lastly, you will be critical in working directly between FC Operations and external merchant partner planning teams for coordinating effective processing of inbound and outbound workloads. This role reports to the Director, Supply Chain Forecasting.
What you’ll do:
- Establish the vision, best practices, and standards for planning and order management for a large-scale B2B / D2C fulfillment operation.
- Transform both merchant and operator requirements into tools that optimize for cost while nailing on-time execution.
- Capable of building fast and iterating faster – something is better than nothing, and something can always improve day over day.
- Work with analytics and engineering teams to understand available data and build your own scripts from there.
- Work with product teams to scale your work to the network level.
- Develop centralized reporting solutions to support standard work and accurate data publication.
- Maintain high levels of controllership and documentation over your work (queries, scripts, model logic, etc.)
- Partner directly with senior leadership in ShipBob (Director through VP) to collaborate on your work and ensure it supports success for our merchants and ShipBob.
- Other duties/responsibilities as necessary.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- You have solid analytical and strategic thinking skills, excellent communication and project management skills, and an established track record of success.
- Ability to deliver information & recommendations succinctly in verbal and written communications/deliverables.
- Ability to understand, articulate and document business and technical requirements.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in digital analytics and visualization tools such as Google Analytics, Tableau, PowerBI, Microsoft Azure's services for data warehousing and analytics.
- 3+ years of experience in a production or capacity planning function.
- 3+ years of experience with relational databases, SQL and Transact-SQL.
- Ability to automate routine optimizations and reports (incl. use of Python/VBA/SQL).

ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. The full base pay range for this position in our compensation architecture is $79,301 - $132,169. In addition to base salary, this role includes the opportunity to be eligible for participation in the Company's discretionary bonus plan based on Company's plans and in accordance with Company’s policies.
