Role Description:

The Director of Sort Center Operations will own the end-to-end operations of ShipBob’s Sort Center network. This leader will oversee four Sort Centers across North America that process volume generated by our spoke sites and Innovation Centers. The Director will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring delivery estimation accuracy, scaling network capabilities, and enabling world-class merchant and customer experiences.

This role requires a strategic leader with deep operational expertise, the ability to scale teams and processes quickly, and a strong data-driven mindset. The Director will report to the Sr Director of Operations and work closely with Product, Supply Chain, and the Transportation team to deliver ShipBob’s growth goals.

What you’ll do: 

  • Network Leadership: Lead the end-to-end operations across all North American sites, ensuring consistent execution and scalable processes
  • Operational Excellence: Drive accuracy in delivery estimation and reliability of outbound shipments to enhance merchant and customer satisfaction
  • Scaling & Growth: Develop and implement strategies to support rapid expansion of the Sort Center Network in line with business demand
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Technology, Product and Supply Chain teams to optimize system performance, improve forecasting, and integrate new capabilities
  • Process Innovation: Identify and implement process improvement that reduce cost per package, increase throughput, and improve on-time performance
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing operations leaders at each Sort Center
  • Data & Metrics: Define KPIs, monitor performance, and use analytics to drive decision making and accountability
  • Merchant-Centric Mindset: Serve as the voice of the merchant in operations-ensuring service levels, transparency and reliability remain at the highest standards

What you’ll bring to the table: 

  • 8-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain, ideally with multi-site responsibilities
  • Experience scaling high-growth operations, preferably in e-commerce fulfillment, parcel, or last mile logistics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to leverage data to drive improvements
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Track record of building high-performing, engaged teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep understanding of network operations (hub-and-spoke, parcel sortation, or equivalent)
  • Will require up to 50% travel to sites.

ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. We are targeting a salary range of $131,450 - $175,266 for this role. The full base pay range for this position in our compensation architecture is $131,450 - $219,083. In addition to base salary, this role includes the opportunity to be eligible for participation in the Company's discretionary bonus plan based on Company's plans and in accordance with Company’s policies.
