WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR 🔍
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering Team. The mission is to design, develop, and maintain the core data infrastructure that fuels our business. As a Data Engineer, you will build robust data pipelines and platforms, provide accessible and reliable data to Data Science and Analytics teams. This involves creating scalable data ingestion and processing frameworks, implementing data quality and governance best practices, and developing tools to support revenue operations. You will be instrumental in democratizing data access and empowering data-driven decision-making across the organization.
WHAT YOU'LL DO 💪🏻
As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for:
- DATA INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN: you'll design and implement real-time and batch data processing frameworks, managing scalable platforms used by multiple teams. Plus, you'll team up with Data Science and Analytics teams to define best practices for data modeling.
- DEVELOPMENT: you'll implement and maintain data pipelines, handling the entire data lifecycle from collection to normalization. You'll plan and estimate features to determine next sprint goals, fix bugs, and improve internal and open source packages.
- TESTING: you'll design and implement automated unit and integration test strategies. You'll analyze datasets and automate quality checks to ensure top-notch data quality and consistency. You'll also develop data governance approaches to ensure security, integrity, and auditability.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED 🪄
- Bachelor’s degree Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent;
- Strong fluency in English, to daily communicate with the Canadian colleagues;
- 2+ years of experience writing ETLs on big data platforms;
- 2+ years of designing and managing big data platforms such as Hadoop, Kafka or cloud based managed solutions;
- 2+ years of experience working with data processing languages such as PySpark, Hive, Scala & Spark;
- Track record of shipping quality code and delivering high quality features.
