About The RoleReporting to the Senior Manager, Finance Operations, the Financial Accountant will leverage their education and professional experience to perform a variety of routine and non-routine accounting and analytical functions within the Finance Department. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to the team’s success.
What You'll Do
- Support accounts payable and act as a liaison for vendors to reconcile billing discrepancies
- Support the accounts receivable invoicing and collections process
- Prepare and book journal entries
- Assist with vendor and broker management, including commissions processing
- Maintain balance sheet accounts, including preparation of monthly reconciliations
- Monitor and process employee expenses
- Assist with the month-end close process
- Prepare and analyze monthly cash expenditures and reconciliations
- Support the accounting team by ensuring backup documentation is properly filed and organized
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks or project-related responsibilities as needed to support the Finance Department
- Walk through and document significant accounting processes and related internal controls to support the development of accounting policies and procedures
What You'll Bring
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting role
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong working knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
- Knowledge of US GAAP financial statements and internal controls
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- A drive to learn quickly, be creative, and win as a team
- Ability to meet hard deadlines
- Insurance or healthcare experience is a plus
