Sift Healthcare is seeking a technically proficient and results-driven Product Owner to help drive the success of our AI-based solutions for healthcare payments. Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Accounts, this role is pivotal in bridging the gap between data science, engineering, and operational teams to define, prioritize, and deliver innovative revenue cycle management coding solutions, an expected high-growth market. The Product Owner will translate Sift’s AI-driven strategies into product requirements.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in revenue cycle management (ideally clinical documentation improvement), strong product development experience, and a track record of translating complex user needs into intuitive, high-impact solutions. This role requires a strong technical foundation, stakeholder collaboration skills, and a passion for building scalable, data-driven products.

As a Product Owner, you will own the product development process, specifying features and writing user stories that capture the needs of our users.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and Communicate the Product Vision: Collaborate with leadership and partners to shape, and communicate, the product strategy and roadmap for our AI/ML clinical documentation improvement solutions, ensuring alignment with client needs and business goals.
  • Translate Product Vision into Solutions: Own the product specification process by capturing accurate, complete, and consistent product specification documentation to translate product visions into value-generating coding solutions.
  • Own the Product Backlog: Maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories and features that are clearly articulated and deliver value to our clients.
  • Lead the Development Process: Guide the development teams through the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring adherence to agile principles and best practices. Aim to exceed timeline expectations and persistently look for ways to improve processes.
  • Deliver High-Quality Work: Own product development deliverable quality and hold teams to high standards.
  • Drive Technical Excellence: Work closely with our Data Science and Engineering teams to ensure the development of high-quality, scalable solutions.
  • Ensure Seamless Collaboration: Maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships, ensuring we exceed development and value generation expectations.
  • Monitor and Measure Success: Manage development progress within our agile framework, escalate and mitigate risks, and develop ways to improve product development processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Product Owner, building revenue cycle solutions, preferably in an agile software environment.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle, ideally clinical documentation improvement, workflow and software system complexities.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts. Familiarity with API and third-party integration technologies is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identify user needs, and develop creative solutions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment. A passion for continuous learning and a desire to stay ahead of emerging trends in AI/ML and healthcare.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and experience working with agile development teams. Certified Scrum Product Owner or similar Agile certification is a plus.
  • Hospital and/or professional billing experience and/or coding experience preferred

 

COMPENSATION

Compensation will be based on skills, experience and performance. In addition to a , this position is eligible for significant performance bonuses and benefits.
