Product Evangelist

San Francisco, CA

About the role:

Sigma is a next-generation analytics and business intelligence (BI) platform empowering business users to explore and analyze cloud data with the full power of SQL in a familiar spreadsheet interface. We are looking for an energetic Product Evangelist (Junior to Mid-Level) to join our team in San Francisco. In this role, you will combine technical savvy with creative marketing to showcase Sigma’s capabilities through compelling content and demos. You’ll be the go-to expert for creating high-impact product videos, interactive demos, and technical content that engage both technical and business audiences. If you love bringing cutting-edge technology to life through storytelling and live demonstrations, this role is for you!

What you will be doing:

As a Product Evangelist at Sigma, you will:

  • Update our website, ensuring our messaging and product value are clearly communicated and up-to-date.
  • Work closely with Product and Solutions Engineering to create demo assets for every new product or feature launch.
  • Create and maintain tutorial video content for our website and knowledge base – particularly focusing on advanced features like Data Apps.
  • Create engaging, polished demo videos for each of Sigma’s core product pages.
  • Design and build scenario-based demos that showcase Sigma in real-world workflows. For example, produce immersive “day in the life” demo stories for roles like Sales Operations and Finance, illustrating how each uses Sigma to solve problems.
  • Collaborate with our events team to assemble and refine live booth demos for industry conferences and summits.
  • Serve as a technical subject-matter expert within the marketing team. Be ready to investigate and deep-dive into integration details or other platforms.
  • Own the cadence of product demo content on Sigma’s social channels.

Qualifications We Need

  • Hands-on command of the Sigma platform – you understand how to build dashboards, data applications, and leverage Sigma’s features to tell a story with data.
  • The ability to write and understand SQL queries is essential. You’ll be working with data and may need to craft queries for demos and tutorials.
  • Eagerness to learn additional languages and frameworks as needed (e.g., Python for Sigma’s Python integrations, embedded analytics SDKs, or other scripting to enhance demos).
  • Comfortable and confident presenting on camera and to live audiences. You have a dynamic on-screen presence and can simplify complex technical concepts for various viewers. (Candidates must submit a sample demo video to demonstrate these skills.)
  • Prior experience in a SaaS company, tech consulting, or a data/analytics-related industry role. You understand B2B software and the importance of good storytelling in that context.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects (website content, video production schedules, event prep, etc.) and deliver high-quality work on time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud data warehouses or data platforms like Snowflake and/or Databricks is a strong plus. Our demos often connect to these systems, so understanding them will help you create more credible and powerful content.
  • Background using BI/analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) or building data applications. This will help you quickly grasp Sigma’s unique value and communicate differentiation.
  • Exposure to product marketing, technical content creation, or developer evangelism. Perhaps you’ve made tutorial videos, written technical blog posts, or given webinars – show us your portfolio!
  • Ability to think creatively about storytelling – for instance, designing relatable user scenarios for demos or using innovative approaches to make videos engaging and fun.
