Job Overview:

Sigmoid is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Modeler with deep expertise in Data Vault 2.0, Snowflake, and DBT to join our data engineering team. You will be responsible for designing scalable data models, optimizing performance, and delivering high-quality, reliable data solutions across enterprise-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• 🔷 Data Modeling:
• Design, implement, and maintain Data Vault 2.0 models, including Hubs, Satellites, and Links to enable scalable and auditable data architecture.
• 🛠️ Data Transformation:
• Develop and maintain robust data transformation layers using DBT (Data Build Tool), ensuring data accuracy, lineage, and reusability.
• ❄️ Data Warehousing:
• Work hands-on with Snowflake for high-performance, cloud-native data warehousing and analytics solutions.
• ⚙️ Performance & Optimization:
• Optimize SQL queries, manage compute cost and storage utilization, and ensure high availability and performance of data models.
• 🔍 Metadata Management:
• Leverage tools such as Informatica Axon for data cataloging, metadata enrichment, and lineage tracking.
• 🤝 Collaboration:
• Work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and key stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data models and reliable pipelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• ✅ Expertise in Data Vault 2.0 modeling, with a solid understanding of business keys, integration layers, and historical tracking.
• ✅ Proven hands-on experience with DBT to automate and manage data transformation workflows.
• ✅ Strong working knowledge of Snowflake, including virtual warehouses, secure data sharing, and query optimization.
• ✅ Experience using metadata and data governance tools like Informatica Axon or similar.
• ✅ Strong command over SQL and familiarity with cloud data warehousing concepts (preferably AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• ✅ Solid problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for clean, maintainable, and scalable solutions.
• ✅ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and business teams.

Nice to Have:

• 🌟 Exposure to other modeling techniques such as dimensional/star schema for reporting use cases.
