Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Operations & Governance leader to drive operational excellence, governance, and portfolio-level oversight across multiple delivery units.
This is not a delivery management role responsible for day-to-day project execution. Instead, the role focuses on creating visibility, driving accountability, enabling decision-making through data, and ensuring consistent operational rigor across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Governance & Operational Excellence
- Establish and drive governance frameworks across delivery portfolios and business units.
- Ensure consistent execution of operational reviews, business cadences, and leadership reporting.
- Monitor portfolio health through defined KPIs, metrics, and governance mechanisms.
- Identify execution risks, operational bottlenecks, and governance gaps, and drive resolution.
Portfolio Oversight
- Partner with Portfolio Heads and Delivery Leaders to improve operational efficiency and visibility.
- Provide leadership with portfolio-level insights, trends, risk indicators, and recommendations.
- Ensure timely reporting of key delivery, resource, financial, and operational metrics.
- Track strategic initiatives and drive closure through structured follow-ups.
Process & Scalability
- Design and implement scalable delivery operations processes.
- Continuously improve governance mechanisms, reporting structures, and operating rhythms.
- Standardize operational practices across portfolios while accommodating business-specific requirements.
- Drive automation and efficiency initiatives wherever applicable.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with senior leadership, delivery teams, PMOs, and support functions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on operational effectiveness and organizational scalability.
- Facilitate executive reviews and governance forums.
Resource & Capacity Governance
- Partner with Resource Management and Delivery Leadership teams to improve workforce planning visibility.
- Support leadership in understanding utilization trends, demand forecasting, and capacity planning.
- Ensure operational alignment between business demand and resource availability.
What This Role Is Not
- Not a Delivery Manager role.
- Not responsible for day-to-day project execution.
- Not responsible for managing delivery teams directly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- MBA from a premier institution preferred.
- PMP, PgMP, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent certifications preferred.
- 14-18 years of experience in technology services, consulting, or engineering organizations.
- Significant experience in one or more of:
- Delivery Operations
- PMO Leadership
- Portfolio Governance
- Resource Management Office (RMO/RMG)
- Program Governance
- Enterprise Delivery Excellence
- Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycles and technology services organizations.
- Experience working with large delivery portfolios and cross-functional stakeholders and Change Management.
- Demonstrated ability to create structure, solve ambiguous operational challenges, and drive execution independently.
