About the Job

Signal & Strand is partnering with a leading global manufacturer in the power and interconnect space to hire a Safety Agency Engineer. This role serves as the central authority for global compliance, ensuring products meet international safety standards and achieve certification for worldwide market access.

This position is critical in enabling high-power products, including data center infrastructure and EV-related systems, to successfully navigate complex regulatory environments.


The Mandate

  • Own global safety compliance and certification strategy across product lines
  • Act as the primary interface with international safety agencies
  • Ensure product designs meet evolving global standards and regulatory requirements
  • Drive efficient, on-time certification to support global product launches

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety reviews of high-voltage and high-power product designs to ensure compliance with IEC, UL, and related standards
  • Lead end-to-end certification efforts, including application, testing, and approval processes
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with agencies such as UL and TÜV
  • Monitor changes in global safety standards and drive internal adoption across engineering teams
  • Evaluate designs for electrical safety, insulation coordination, temperature rise, and fire protection requirements
  • Review structural drawings using CAD tools to assess safety spacing and compliance
  • Manage multiple certification programs across regions, ensuring alignment with varying regulatory requirements

Ideal Profile

  • Background as a Compliance Engineer, Certification Engineer, or Quality Assurance Engineer within power supply, electronics, or connector industries
  • Proven experience managing global safety certifications end-to-end across multiple product lines
  • Hands-on experience working with international agencies such as UL and TÜV, including successful product certifications
  • Strong understanding of high-power product safety requirements, including electrical safety, insulation, thermal performance, and fire protection
  • Experience with products such as server power supplies, EV charging systems, or similar high-power applications
  • Familiarity with global certification standards (UL/cUL, TÜV, CE, PSE) and regional differences
  • Experience working in a testing lab or deep familiarity with compliance testing methodologies
  • Proficiency in CAD tools for design review and safety evaluation
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Location & Work Model

  • Location flexible depending on business needs
  • On-site or hybrid model aligned with lab access and cross-functional collaboration
  • Global and Domestic Travel Required

Compensation

  • $80,000 to $110,000 base salary + Bonus
  • Compensation is benchmarked internally and flexible based on experience and qualifications

$80,000 - $110,000 USD
