Director of People & Culture - Fashion & Apparel - Onsite - up to $200,000

Beverly Hills, California, United States

In a world of noise, we find the signal — the pulse of potential. We weave the strands of talent, vision, and purpose into organizations that endure. Blending intelligence with intuition, we honor the human art of connection at the heart of every great company.

About the Job

We are partnered with a multi-brand fashion and apparel company on the search for its next Director of Human Resources. This role owns the full HR function across the organization's portfolio of brands, from talent strategy and culture to compliance, compensation, and employee relations.

This leader will partner directly with executive leadership to build scalable HR infrastructure that supports a growing, multi-brand organization, while staying close enough to the business to understand what each brand team actually needs day to day.

The Mandate

This organization is clear about what it is—and is not—seeking.

They are not looking for a purely administrative HR generalist who processes paperwork and enforces policy from a distance.

They are seeking a strategic HR leader who can build and scale people infrastructure across a multi-brand organization, while staying hands-on enough to resolve employee relations issues, guide managers, and act as a trusted partner to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end HR function across the organization's portfolio of brands, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, compensation, and benefits
  • Partner with executive leadership to build and scale HR infrastructure, policies, and processes that support a growing, multi-brand organization
  • Lead employee relations matters with sound judgment, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant resolution
  • Oversee compensation and benefits strategy, ensuring programs are competitive and aligned with company goals
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law across all locations and brands
  • Partner with people leaders and managers to support performance management, employee development, and succession planning
  • Build and maintain HR systems, reporting, and metrics that give leadership visibility into workforce trends
  • Lead recruiting strategy and oversee talent acquisition across brands
  • Champion company culture and employee engagement initiatives across a multi-brand organization
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to managers and leadership on people matters

Ideal Profile

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience within fashion, apparel, or a multi-brand consumer retail organization
  • Experience building and scaling an HR function within a growing or multi-entity organization
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Proven experience leading employee relations matters with sound judgment and discretion
  • Experience owning compensation and benefits strategy
  • Strong communicator, comfortable partnering with executive leadership and operating as a hands-on HR leader
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification a plus

Location & Work Model

  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Onsite work model

Compensation

  • Base salary: Up to $200,000
  • Bonus: Performance-based, aligned with level and experience

Base Compensation Range

$175,000 - $200,000 USD
