Senior BI Developer
How will this role have an impact?
Under the supervision of the Sr. Director of Analytics, the Business Intelligence Developer III will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic and visually compelling Power BI dashboards that transform data into meaningful insights for strategic and operational decision-making. This role will emphasize expertise in data visualization, dashboard development, and optimizing user experience for non-technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data modeling, report creation, and delivering solutions that drive data-driven strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards for the Clinical Analytics team.
- Create and optimize data models in Power BI for efficient and robust reporting performance.
- Design and implement intuitive visualizations that make complex data easy to understand and actionable for business users.
- Write and manage DAX expressions and Power Query transformations to handle complex calculations and data transformations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Technology, Product, and Operations, to gather and clarify reporting requirements.
- Ensure data integrity and reliability by conducting thorough quality checks and validation processes.
- Stay up-to-date with Power BI features and best practices to continuously improve dashboard performance and user experience.
- Present dashboard insights and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Support ad hoc reporting needs and troubleshoot issues related to data visualization and report delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in developing and managing Power BI dashboards in a professional environment.
- Expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX calculations, Power Query, and performance optimization.
- Strong skills in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and integration with Power BI.
- Familiarity with data storytelling and the ability to present insights effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing data load and visualization performance within Power BI.
- Previous experience in the healthcare industry is a plus, especially with knowledge of risk adjustment, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial products.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with various teams to drive projects forward.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data visualization tools (such as Tableau or QlikView but Power BI Preferred).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and their integration with Power BI.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Understanding of advanced analytics techniques, including forecasting and predictive modeling.

The base salary hiring range for this position is $92,300 to $160,800. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.
