Who You Are
The Production Specialist (Projects) is responsible for ensuring that new plant systems and equipment are designed, installed, and commissioned with a focus on operational excellence. This role focuses on project planning, design input, safety leadership, and commissioning/startup management, bridging the gap between engineering design and long-term facility operation.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Operational Input: Provide expert feedback during design and equipment selection to ensure long-term operability and maintainability of new assets.
- **Safety Leadership:**Active participant in HAZOPs, PHAs, and safety reviews for all capital projects to identify and mitigate operational risks.
- Procedure Development: Lead the creation of technical documentation, commissioning procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operating manuals, and training materials for new equipment.
- Commissioning and Startup: Lead operators during plant startup and commissioning phases, ensuring a smooth transition from construction to steady-state operations.
- Outage Planning: Coordinate and plan plant outages required for project tie-ins and equipment installations, minimizing impact on production schedules.
- Operator : Support operations of R&D tools (ie Vega) or the startup of production tools.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide work direction and daily oversight of project operators in both long term and short term assignments to support project design, execution, commissioning and operation.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in Project design and commissioning.
- Advanced knowledge of PFDs and P&IDs.
- Ability to read and interpret PFDs and P&IDs.
- Working knowledge of large scale project management.
- Familiarity with SDS information for safe handling of hazardous materials.
- Expert understanding Lock/Tag Out requirements
- Proficiency in monitoring and operating process equipment using SOPs.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Ability to operate and understand SCADA systems.
- Working knowledge of OPC and large scale project management
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
- Move items up to 50 lbs with the assistance of lift equipment and carts
- Move long distances (such as from building to building) and be stationary for extended periods of time
- Climb stairs or over containment walls
- Operate a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, copier/printer, etc in a fixed location
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day (flexibility on specific day time hours)
The starting base pay for this role is between $95,000 and $120,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila’s competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, equity. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
