The Role  

 

As a Senior System Administrator, you will manage all IT end user assets which includes Windows systems and Mac, supplying hardware refreshes, OS and software upgrades, and ongoing maintenance. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues. You will use your extensive knowledge of systems and collaborate with colleagues to identify additional needs, assess, and implement solutions.   

 

You will have strong Microsoft MDM knowledge like Intune and JamF and be able to take ownership of our device configurations. This is an opportunity to make your mark with an open book for configuration profiles and automated builds.    

 

Microsoft 365 and Azure AD (Active Directory) are utilised to supply a seamless experience for the team, and we are looking for someone who wants to exceed expectations when it comes to user experience and technical satisfaction. Azure AD configuration experience/qualifications highly regarded.    

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Sophos Central are used for Windows and MacOS. We are looking for someone who can jump in and get involved with security policies and provide a new set of eyes on a pre-existing configuration.   

 

Strong problem-solving experience is essential. We don’t expect you to know all the answers but knowing how to find them and implement that research is a must. Scripting experience would be advantageous - we would love to hear a bit more about scripts you have written as well as scripting technologies you are familiar with and equally, what you would like to start using. As an experienced member of the team it is expected you will also play a role in contributing to knowledge base articles and helping to train junior team members.   

 

For this role we are looking for a team player who can support a wide range of internal users in multiple time zones and locations, so a great MS Teams/Zoom call and email manner is essential. This position is within a small team, and we are looking for a great cultural fit as well as the ability to work flexibly. 

 

  

Key Responsibilities  

 

  • Support the Corporate IT (CIT) team globally.  
  • Manage the day-to-day activities and projects of the Corporate IT department.  
  • Manage Windows and Mac workstations in a hybrid setting using Active Directory, Intune and JAMF 
  • Troubleshoot and assist users with application and hardware issues/problems. 
  • Manage On-boarding and off-boarding, including emails, individual backups and recovery, anti-virus and Mac and Windows systems management software. 
  • Manage the lifecycle of hardware and software assets from acquisition to software updates and disposal globally.  
  • As a Microsoft Server/Azure expert you will contribute to company projects and initiatives.  
  • Manage Microsoft 365 products, apps and services and keep up with the latest updates to help and educate our employee to embrace new technologies.  
  • Maintain and support the Cisco Meraki network in our two in our two Swedish offices (Stockholm & Norrköpping).  
  • Manage and maintain the license availability for software assets in the central repository.  
  • Ensure physical and security compliance for hardware and software assets and keep up to date with new standards and releases to keep a secure IT environment.  
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible security breaches.  
  • Work with users to schedule hardware installations and/or moves.  
  • Implement and monitor Information Security best practices and processes.  
  • Manage and execute IT system migrations and implementations.  
  • Work in concert with the System Operations and Engineering groups as necessary to ensure proper operation and integration with internal systems. 

 

 

 

 

Required Competence and Skills 

 

  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in CS or equivalent experience. 
  • Fluent in English, with Swedish conversational proficiency an advantage  
  • Deep knowledge of Active Directory, AWS and Microsoft Azure. 
  • Extensive experience managing legacy Active Directory and Azure AD, Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online. 
  • Networking and network management (LAN, WAN and Wireless, Cisco / Cisco Meraki). 
  • Good knowledge of Windows Defender and SIEM configuration and management. 
  • Mobile Device Management (Intune and JAMF). 
  • Windows and Mac Update management. 
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing Zero Trust and JAE. 
  • In depth experience with Mac/Windows operating systems, Linux/Windows servers.  
  • AWS (Amazon Web Services) administration and Infrastructure as a code (IaC) 
  • Experience with desktop and/or server virtualization (Hyper-V and VMWare) 
  • Extensive experience in level 2/3 support. 
  • Proven track record of taking charge of complex tasks and projects. 
  • Demonstrable experience with troubleshooting, maintenance, and system upgrades.  
  • Strong knowledge of industry standard best practices, balanced with the ability to find new and original solutions.  
  • Able to provide hands-on and in-person support and help lead trouble-shooting efforts and remediation in a timely fashion.  
  • Operations support experience, including system monitoring, backups and disaster recovery is desirable.  
  • Articulated, with good written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and ability to produce high quality documentation. 
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.  
  • Ability to understand and operate at both business and technical level.  
  • Ability to work when needed without the direction of management.
