THE OPPORTUNITY
The Director of Sales, Public Safety and Commercial position is a remote role that reports to the Executive Director of Sales. The successful individual in this role will actively participate in all aspects of the sales cycle, for both existing and emerging markets/channels in the U.S. law enforcement and public safety market, as well as commercial markets.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales Management: Direct and oversee the entire sales process, targeting customers in line with the company's strategic objectives. Responsible for not only initiating customer interaction but also guiding the final sales and ensuring successful follow-up.
- Business Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with partners and customers in the Law Enforcement and Public Safety market. Management of IDIQ contracts and partnerships. Actively identify and explore new Law Enforcement and Public Safety segments and opportunities that leverage our core MIMO solutions.
- Event Support: Participate in trade shows, conferences, experiments, and customer events as needed to support sales development. Serve as the primary point of contact (with oversight from the Executive Director and support from administrative personnel) for scheduling booth space and coordinating logistics for trade shows.
- Market Awareness: Stay updated on trends, changes, and competitor actions in the market that may impact our company's positioning. This includes setting and meeting an annual target for new business to support our growth in the Law Enforcement, Public Safety, and Commercial markets.
- Pipeline Management: Contribute to building a robust pipeline of business opportunities. Regularly update the CRM database with a forecast of opportunities to help inform key business decisions.
- Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our MIMO solutions. This knowledge will help effectively communicate the value and benefits of our products to customers and prospects.
- Customer Service: Foster a customer-centric approach in all dealings. Promptly address any customer concerns or complaints and use feedback to support improvements.
- Maintain an annual revenue quota to support the Company’s annual growth objectives.
- Maintain a CRM database to ensure visibility of current and future pursuits and opportunities.
- Travel Requirements: May require travel 1 - 3 weeks per month to support trade shows, demonstrations, and customer meetings.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college plus a minimum of 4 years relevant sales experience in technical networking operations or technical solution sales; OR High School Diploma/GED with at least 8 years of relevant sales experience in technical networking operations or technical solution sales.
- Familiarity with public safety operations, funding sources, and procurement cycles.
- Existing network of law enforcement professionals and/or distribution channels.
- Track record of successful sales of MANET and/or radio solutions.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college.
- Working knowledge of IP networks, video, and RF communications.
- Basic understanding of common office software systems, and familiarity with CRM systems.
- Working understanding of alternative MANET technologies and their relative strengths.
- US Government clearance at SECRET level; OR the ability to obtain a SECRET US Government security clearance within 12 months of start date.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
- Office environment.
- Trade shows.
- Outdoor environment for demos.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
- Lift equipment up to 20 lbs. for set-up of demos and testing.
- Walking/Moving in the labs.
COMPENSATION
The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
US Pay Range
$115,000 - $145,000 USD
