THE OPPORTUNITY

The Intern - Embedded Firmware Development and Test Engineering position reports to the Senior Engineering Director heading our Irvine Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will help with embedded firmware development, debugging, and testing for our advanced MIMO MANET radios for different applications. The position is full-time, on-site daily Monday through Friday. The location for this role is Silvus Technologies’ Irvine Office in the heart of Irvine near the vibrant Irvine Spectrum.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Embedded firmware development, implementation, testing, and debugging for Silvus StreamCaster radios.
  • Development of firmware testing environments and scripts.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • In-progress bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical fields.
  • Expertise in C/C++ embedded programming and embedded Linux.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx FPGA’s and ARM processor cores.
  • Working knowledge of wireless communications and networking protocols.
  • Understanding of communication systems and signal processing algorithms, including areas such as channel estimation, beamforming, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Indoor air-conditioned facility.
  • Some outdoor fieldwork.

COMPENSATION

The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

CA Pay Range

$27 - $32 USD
