THE OPPORTUNITY
The Intern - Research & Development Test Engineer position reports to the Senior Research Engineer within the Research & Development team. The successful individual in this role will work with the R&D team to understand performance requirements and expected system behaviors, validate and troubleshoot new designs, and prepare them for rollout to production. The position is full-time, on-site daily Monday through Friday. The location for this role is Silvus Technologies’ HQ in the heart of vibrant West LA.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform lab testing using wireless channel emulators and other instruments.
- Perform field testing to qualify system performance in a practical environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- In-progress bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other related technical fields.
- Basic understanding of Statistics and Probability.
- Basic understanding of Communication Transmission Methods.
- Exposure to Linear Algebra (Eigenvectors).
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- MATLAB coding experience.
- Understanding of Statistics and Probability applied to communication signal processing.
- Understanding of Physical Layer Signal Processing including optimal detection.
- Familiarity with OFDM and MIMO systems.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Indoor air-conditioned facility.
- Some outdoor fieldwork.
- Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for setup of demos and testing.
- Walking/Moving in the lab.
COMPENSATION
The pay range is NOT a guarantee. It is based on market research and peer data, and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
CA Pay Range
$27 - $32 USD
