Burlington, MA

At Similarweb, we are revolutionizing the way businesses interact with the digital world by revealing to them everything that happens online. Our unique data and solutions empower over 6,000 customers globally, including industry giants like Google, eBay, and Adidas, to make game-changing decisions that drive their digital strategies. In 2021, we went public on the New York Stock Exchange, and we continue to reach new heights. Work alongside Similarwebbers from around the globe who are bright, curious, practical, and genuinely good people.

About the Role

Search is changing fast. AI-powered answers, generative results, and new ad formats are reshaping how people find information and how brands compete for attention. Similarweb sits at the center of that shift, giving marketers the intelligence they need to stay ahead.

We're looking for a Solution Business Manager, Search & Ads Intelligence to bring their performance marketing expertise to the next level. This is not a generalist role. We want someone who has lived inside a performance marketing agency or large retailers or eCommerce with hands-on experience managing campaigns across organic and paid channels and can translate that real-world experience into value for our clients.

You will partner with sales, account management, and customer success to win deals, deepen adoption, and position Similarweb as the go-to platform for marketers navigating today's complex search and paid media landscape. Also, you will also help shape our product roadmap by feeding market intelligence, your knowledge and client insights back to the product and data teams.

If you get excited by keyword gaps, AI-generated search results, messy URLs, bidding strategy, audience overlap, and building custom workflows with AI tools, this role is for you.

Why This Role, Why Now

The search and paid media landscape is going through its biggest shift in years:

  •   Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) are creating entirely new strategies for organic and paid visibility that most clients are still figuring out.
  •   Paid search, social, display, and affiliate channels are increasingly interconnected, and marketers need unified intelligence to allocate budgets effectively.
  •   AI tools are changing how campaigns are built, optimized, and reported on, and the practitioners who know how to work with them are already pulling ahead.
  •   Our clients need someone who can speak their language, understand their challenges, and show them how Similarweb solves problems they deal with every day.

What You'll Do

Your core focus is being the subject matter expert that clients and internal teams turn to when they need a real practitioner's perspective on search and paid media.

Client & Revenue Impact

  •   Partner with sales and account management to support deal cycles, RFPs, and renewal conversations, bringing hands-on practitioner credibility to every client interaction.
  •   Run discovery sessions to understand clients' channel mix, budget allocation, and competitive challenges across SEO, AEO/GEO, Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, and Affiliate.
  •   Build tailored use case demos and data stories that speak directly to performance marketers, media planners, and agency strategists.
  •   Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts by surfacing unmet needs across the client's full marketing stack.

Search, AEO & GEO Strategy

  •   Guide clients on organic search strategy, including AEO and GEO, helping them understand how AI-generated results, featured snippets, and answer boxes are affecting their visibility and what to do about it.
  •   Help clients optimize for new search paradigms: LLM-referenced content, structured data, entity optimization, and topic-aligned content strategies.
  •   Apply keyword research, content gap analysis, technical SEO insights, and competitor benchmarking using Similarweb's suite alongside other tools.
  •   Monitor how SERP landscapes evolve, track shifts in organic click-through rates driven by AI overviews, and translate those findings into actionable client recommendations.

Paid Media Intelligence

  •   Advise clients on competitive paid media strategy across Paid Search (SEM/PPC), Paid Social, Programmatic Display, AEO advertising, and Affiliate channels using Similarweb data.
  •   Help clients benchmark ad spend, identify competitor keyword bidding patterns, analyze share-of-voice, and uncover channel gaps across the competitive landscape.
  •   Connect organic and paid search insights to help clients make smarter cross-channel budget decisions and reduce wasted spend.
  •   Support client and internal teams in suggesting or building client-facing reports and competitive audits powered by Similarweb data.

AI-Driven Workflows & Innovation

  •   Actively use AI tools (LLMs, automation platforms, prompt engineering) to build workflows and agents that increase your output and the quality of deliverables.
  •   Prototype custom analyses and solutions by combining Similarweb data with AI tools, giving clients a preview of what is possible beyond the standard product.
  •   Stay current on how AI is changing search, advertising, and marketing analytics, and bring that knowledge into client conversations proactively.

Product Feedback & Market Intelligence

  •   Evaluate the competitive landscape, emerging tools, and industry trends, sharing structured feedback with product and data teams. Such feedback should be curated and made applicable to various core industries we service.
  •   Facilitate client feedback sessions and user research to inform the product roadmap for Search and Ads Intelligence.
  •   Monitor and report on product KPIs, adoption trends, and solution health across the book of business.

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  •   6+ years of hands-on experience in performance marketing, with deep expertise in both SEO and paid media, ideally at a performance marketing agency managing multiple accounts.
  •   Practical experience across at least three of the following channels: Organic Search (SEO), Paid Search (PPC/SEM), Paid Social, Programmatic Display, Affiliate.
  •   Solid understanding of AEO and GEO: what it means to optimize for AI-generated answers, how LLMs surface content, and what marketers need to do differently now.
  •   Comfortable building with AI. You use AI tools regularly to do your work faster and better, and you can clearly explain how you do it.
  •   Strong analytical mindset, you dig into data, spot the story, and communicate it in a way that drives decisions.
  •   Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable in front of clients, execs, and internal teams alike.
  •   Bias toward action, able to work across ambiguity, prioritize fast, and build things from scratch when needed.

Nice to Have

  •   Experience working with B2B SaaS companies or marketing technology platforms.
  •   Familiarity with competitive intelligence tools or market research platforms.
  •   Experience presenting at industry events, writing thought leadership content, or building training programs.
  •   Existing network within the performance marketing agency world.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
