We are looking for an Experienced Backend Engineer to join our Data Foundations team.

What You’ll Do:

Dive into the heart of Similarweb’s engineering core as a pivotal member of our team, dedicated to constructing the internal tools and services that are the cornerstone of our data-centric universe. Your role is at the intersection of innovation and collaboration, focusing on creating sophisticated solutions that streamline data versioning, enhance data processes, and facilitate seamless interactions across all data teams. In this team, you will be building the robust framework that enables all other teams to manage and leverage data with unprecedented efficiency and accuracy. Your contributions will not only improve our internal workflows but also amplify the impact of our data on client success.

What does the day to day of Infrastructure Engineer at Similarweb look like:

Your daily adventures will revolve around the intricate dance of data across Similarweb’s vast ecosystem, engaging directly with the lifeblood of our organization.

Your role will include:

• Design and build backend systems that power customer signup, trials, purchases, subscriptions, and account lifecycle across Similarweb’s product suite.
• Own revenue-critical flows end to end, from first signup through billing, upgrades, renewals, cancellations, and payment recovery, with high reliability and clear error handling.
• Integrate with external billing, payment, and CRM platforms, building and maintaining robust API integrations, webhooks, and async processing for third-party systems.
• Evolve a large legacy platform into modern services, decompose monolithic components into focused microservices while keeping production stable and minimizing risk to customer-facing flows.
• Build event-driven and asynchronous workflows, process inbound callbacks, domain events, and background jobs that keep subscription and account data consistent across systems.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend, product, and growth teams on features that directly impact conversion, retention, and customer experience.
• Ship with quality: write tests, participate in code reviews, investigate production issues, and improve monitoring for business-critical paths.
• Effectively use the latest AI technologies and in-house AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining high engineering standards. Continuously develop AI rules, skills, and best practices that enable faster, more reliable code delivery.
• Work in a modern .NET backend stack — ASP.NET Core, relational databases, message queues, caching, and service-to-service communication.

What does the ideal candidate look like:

• A BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
• 4+ years of hands-on coding experience in C# and .NET.
• A knack for understanding and solving complex data management challenges.
• Experience improving stability of large-scale systems using monitoring, solving bottle-necks and making appropriate changes.
• High coding standards, working independently and experience leading long term tech tasks involving many teams and stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with diverse teams, understand their needs, and translate them into actionable technical solutions.
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• An approachable, fun, and positive demeanor, making you a delightful teammate who brings not only expertise but also joy and camaraderie to the workplace. Being nice and fun to work with is as crucial to us as your technical skills.
